  • PIT Kicker (FG)
The Broncos placed K Paul Ernster (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Ernster suffered a torn ACL while going through pre-game warmups Monday.
  • PIT Kicker (FG)
Broncos signed punter/kicker Paul Ernster, a seventh-round pick.
His roster spot would appear to be unnecessary with Jason Elam and Todd Sauerbrun around. The Broncos don’t need a kickoff specialist.
  • PIT Kicker (FG)
K/P Paul Ernster worked out for the Browns on Tuesday and has reportedly been told that he’ll be brought to Cleveland as a contingency plan Friday.
Browns punter Dave Zastudil is hurting, so Ernster could be called upon to sub for him in Week 1. He was previously let go by the Broncos after losing the job to Todd Sauerbrun.
  • PIT Kicker (FG)
    Broncos released K/P Paul Ernster.
Ernster finished 2006 as Denver’s starting punter, but was no longer needed with Todd Sauerbrun returning. He can double as a kickoff specialist.
  • PIT Kicker (FG)
Browns signed P Paul Ernster and waived DB Jereme Perry.
Perry was to be Cleveland’s dime back. Ernster will replace P Dave Zastudil, who is out with a back injury, during Sunday’s matchup with Pittsburgh.
  • PIT Kicker (FG)
    Broncos released P Paul Ernster.
Ernster shanked two ugly punts in Week 16. Coach Mike Shanahan doesn’t have much patience for that. Denver will sign another punter this week.
  • PIT Kicker (FG)
    Broncos signed P Paul Ernster.
The Broncos punter in 2006, Ernster replaces the man brought in to replace him, Todd Sauerbrun. Ernster was with the Browns earlier in the season.
  • PIT Kicker (FG)
Steelers claimed P Paul Ernster off waivers from the Lions.
That was quick. With Daniel Sepulveda suffering a season-ending knee injury, the Steelers snatched up Ernster just hours after he was released by the Lions.
  • PIT Kicker (FG)
    Lions released K Paul Ernster.
Ernster could catch on elsewhere (like Denver), but he never really had a chance to beat out Jason Hanson in Detroit.
  • WAS Tight End
Steelers released TE Lee Vickers, LB Patrick Bailey, WR/KR Eddie Drummond, P Paul Ernster, FB Billy Latsko, OG Doug Legursky, OG Matt Lentz, CB Roy Lewis, S Grant Mason, DE Ryan McBean, OT Jeremy Parquet, DT Scott Paxson, DE Jordan Reffett, WR Willie Reid, WR Micah Rucker, TE Dezmond Sherrod, RB Justin Vincent and CB Travis Williams.
Nothing to see here folks. Good to see the Steelers moving on from Reid and Drummond on returns.
