Giants selected Old Dominion DE Oshane Ximines with the No. 95 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Ximines (6’4/253) was a four-year starter on the ODU defensive line, earning first-team All-Conference USA in each of his final two seasons and graduating with school records in sacks (33), TFLs (51.5), and forced fumbles (11). PFF College gave Ximines its top C-USA edge-defender grade in 2018, crediting him with 55 QB pressures and 39 run stops, and he exhibited NFL-level athleticism with a 4.78 forty and 7.13 three cone at the Combine. Lauded for his leadership skills and work ethic, Ximines’ college tape reveals a pro-caliber pass rusher who probably won’t make an impact on early downs but has obvious value in a pass-first league.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports that the Jets are looking to trade up into the second round.
Garafolo reports that the Jets would like to move up into the second round to possibly procure an edge-rusher. That could mean a player like Oshane Ximines from Old Dominion or Ben Banogu from TCU; names that aren’t “sexy” but are among the best at the position available because of how many that went on Thursday. The Jets don’t have a second-round selection because of the Sam Darnold trade last year, but do have the 68th and 93rd picks in the third.

NFL Media Analyst Lance Zierlein compares Old Dominion EDGE Oshane Ximines to New Orleans Saints DL Trey Hendrickson.
Hendrickson was a third-round pick out of FAU who has been a solid role player for the Saints in his two years with the club. Ximines (6'3/253) was a very good player for the Monarchs in his time there, picking up 11.5 sacks and 18 tackles for loss last fall. Zierlein notes that he has an “advanced rush approach” that was too good for C-USA tackles to handle, and that he has a keen sense of timing thanks in large part to being a student of the game. The lack of competition he faces ia concern for Zierlein, however, and he also notes that Ximines can be “engulfed in the chaos " if he’s not playing outside the tackle. “His fully furnished repertoire of rush tactics could get him a look on Day 2 (Rounds 2-3),” he writes in Ximines’ overview, “and give him a good chance to become an eventual starter in either a 4-3 or 3-4.”

Old Dominion EDGE Oshane Ximines recorded the 20-yard shuttle in 4.57 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Ximines (6'3/253) ended up testing like an average athlete despite showing below average agility in the short shuttle and below average burst in his 10-yard split (1.72 seconds). However, the Old Dominion product had a better showing at the Reese’s Senior Bowl with ESPN’s Todd McShay calling him a stand out player. As of now, Ximines is squarely on the Day 2 radar after recording 18 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks in 2018.

ESPN’s Todd McShay lists Old Dominion edge rusher Oshane Ximines as a player that stood out during Reese’s Senior Bowl practices.
Ximines (6'3/241) was one of the most intriguing players selected to play in Mobile, and for the most part, it sounds like he lived up to the hype. McShay notes that there’s some technique issues to work out here, but he noted his explosion and that there’s more power here than his frame indicates. In McShay’s eyes, Ximines and Mississippi State’s Montez Sweat were the two best pass rushers on display. There’s a legit chance that the former Monarch is off the board in the first 32 picks.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. lists Old Dominion edge-rusher Oshane Ximines as a potential first-round pick playing in the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
This isn’t a huge surprise that Kiper feels this way -- he mocked Ximines going to the Seahawks with the 21st pick in his latest mock -- but it’s worth repeating. Kiper notes the 6-foot-3, 253 pound defender has a similar frame to DeMarcus Ware -- he himself a first-round pick out of a small school (Troy) and that they have similar explosiveness. This is an excellent test for Ximines, one that could see his stock price improve exponentially if he performs well.

Old Dominion senior edge-rusher Oshane Ximines accepted an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Ximines has been one of the best players on the Old Dominion defense (admittedly not one of the more stout units in college football). Still, the edge-rusher has been cited for his speed off the edge and ability to get to the quarterback, and could see his stock rise if/when he performs well in the Senior Bowl against bookends.

Draft Analyst’s Tony Pauline lists Old Dominion senior edge-rusher Oshane Ximines as one of the players whose stock rose after his performance in Week 3.
This game won’t be known as a defensive classic -- The Monarchs won 49-35 -- but it’s tough to see Old Dominion winning this contest without Ximines’ performances. He picked up two sacks, and he might have had more if he didn’t have to leave for a bit with a foot issue. “Ximines plays explosive football and shows speed off the edge as well as the ability to quickly change direction and pursue plays from the back side,” Pauline writes. “He’ll need good predraft workouts to cement a place in the draft’s second day, but I’d expect Ximines to receive an invite to both the Senior Bowl and Combine.”

NFL.com’s Chad Reuter pegged Old Dominion redshirt senior LB Oshane Ximines as one of the top players to watch for the upcoming collegiate season.
On Reuter’s list of 150 players, Ximines essentially landed in the middle of proceedings at No. 83. The 6-foot-3, 247-pounder was a first-team All-CUSA performer last season, when he registered 44 tackles (14.0 for loss), 8.5 sacks and four forced fumbles in 12 games. He has not missed a game during his active time with the Monarchs.

Old Dominion senior edge-rusher Oshane Ximines was dominant against Florida Atlantic on Sunday, picking up six tackles, two sacks and forcing two fumbles.
Have yourself a day, Oshane. The 6-foot-37, 247-pound edge-rusher was sensational against the Panthers on Saturday, consistently generating pressure against the FIU offensive line. The Monarchs have never had a player drafted, but assuming Oshines keeps this up -- relatively, of course -- and tests reasonably well, they’ll have their first in 2019 in Ximines.
