Seahawks selected Michigan C Olu Oluwatimi with the No. 154 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Oluwatimi may just have the smallest hands in the draft class. Sub-9” hands are a rarity in the entire draft, let alone in the Offensive Line. This will require him to be as accurate as a sniper on his punches in order to maintain hand leverage. Oluwatimi is also one of the oldest members of the draft class, having spent the majority of his college career in Charlottesville. Upon transferring to Michigan, he won the Outland Trophy while being a part of one of the best Offensive Lines in the country. He finished the season with a PFF grade of 80.4 while allowing no sacks. He is patient in engaging with defenders, dictating the point of engagement while giving the illusion of choice on the defender’s part. Although he is short, his width and weight allow him to have some anchor to show. Physical tools are not on his side, but his consistency in maximizing the effect of double teams has led to success in multiple conferences in college. Considering his broad jump is in the 91st percentile, one would expect better power at the pop, but he works well in redirecting defenders away from the play.

Former Virginia senior C Olusegun Oluwatimi transferred to Michigan.
Michigan gets a good one in Oluwatimi (6'3"/310) who was one of three finalists for the 2021 Rimington Trophy, awarded to the best center in college football. He was also a second team All-American. Virginia has seen a weird number of offensive linemen specifically transfer out this year, but one team’s loss is another team’s huge gain. The Wolverines offensive line was already great this year, with one of the best rushing attacks in the nation, and they should return three starters and now add Oluwatimi.
