Browns EDGE Ogbo Okoronkwo (illness) is questionable to return to Week 5 against the Commanders.
The edge rusher went to the locker room in the second quarter with an undisclosed injury and it was later revealed to be an illness. It’s unclear if he will come back in with the Commanders in, well, command of the game.
  • CLE Defensive End #54
ESPN’s Jake Trotter reports Browns EDGE Ogbo Okoronkwo suffered a pectoral injury in Week 14 “that could end his season.”
Okoronkwo will be put on injured reserve. It’s possible that a deep playoff run would allow him to return late in the postseason, though he will most likely be out until next year. Okoronkwo is second on the Browns in sacks with 4.5 takedowns. He also has a dozen TFLs and a fumble recovery. The Browns have sustained a number of key injuries on the defensive side of the ball over the second half of the season. Though they remain one of the league’s best units, they may be an easier matchup for opposing offenses going forward.
  • CLE EDGE #54
Browns signed EDGE Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, formerly of the Texans, to a three-year, $19 million contract.
The deal includes $12.5 million guaranteed. Playing on a one-year deal for the Texans last season, the former fifth-round pick of the Rams had a career year with five sacks on just 517 snaps. Rather than hold onto their free agent find, the Texans will look for the next one, instead. Okoronkwo will probably remain a rotational player in Cleveland, but his snaps could rise into the 600-700 range.

  • CLE EDGE #54
Texans signed OLB Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, formerly of the Rams.
The Rams drafted Okoronkwo in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He failed to crack the starting lineup during his four years with the team but did take on a slightly increased role in LA last year. He notched two sacks and three TFLs while setting a career-high in snaps. He will serve as a depth option for the Texans but could play a larger role for his new team.

  • LAR Tackle #79
Rams activated RT Rob Havenstein from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
The Rams also activated linebacker Obo Okoronkwo and defensive back Terrell Burgess. After losing a slew of players to the COVID list over the past two weeks, the Rams appear to be getting things on track now. Havenstein started every game through Week 13 for LA before being added to the COVID list. He’ll return to the starting role as long as the COVID-related absence didn’t mess with his conditioning.

  • CLE EDGE #54
Rams declared OLB Ogbo Okoronkwo, RB Raymond Calais, C Brian Allen, WR Trishton Jackson, TE Brycen Hopkins inactive for Week 6 against the 49ers.
There are no surprises. The Rams are healthy going into Sunday night.

  • CLE EDGE #54
Rams OLB Ogbonnia Okoronkwo is inactive for Week 15 against the Eagles.
There are no surprises. Darious Williams, OLB Trevon Young, OL Jamil Demby, DT Sebastian Joseph-Day, DT Tanzel Smart and OLB Matt Longacre are also inactive.
  • CLE EDGE #54
Rams OLB Ogbonnia Okoronkwo is inactive for Week 14 against Chicago.
Also inactive are RB Malcolm Brown, DB Darious Williams, DT Sebastian Joseph-Day, TE Johnny Mundt, DT Tanzel Smart, and OLB Matt Longacre.
  • CLE EDGE #54
Rams placed OLB Ogbonnia Okoronkwo (foot) on reserve/PUP.
He’ll miss the Rams’ first six games at minimum. He missed all of camp after needing surgery shortly after being picked in the fifth round in April.
  • CLE EDGE #54
The Rams traded up to select Oklahoma pass rusher Ogbonnia Okoronkwo with the No. 160 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
The Rams sent two sixth-round picks to the Broncos. Okoronkwo (6’2/253) made 26 starts at end-linebacker for the Sooners, tallying 34.5 career tackles for loss, 21 sacks, and five forced fumbles en route to 2017 Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Year, sharing it with Texas LB Malik Jefferson. Okoronkwo’s 46 QB pressures ranked third among Big 12 edge defenders. An 86th-percentile SPARQ athlete, Okoronkwo’s combination of explosiveness and college production increase his probability of hitting. In the NFL, Okoronkwo best projects as a sub-package outside rusher. This fit with Wade Phillips is an easy one.
