Noah Herron has seen time at fullback at Packers OTAs.
A Verron Haynes-type role could be in store for Herron, who lined up with the first-team offense at recent workouts. He’s unlikely to win the starting tailback job.
  • CLE Running Back
Packers RB Noah Herron has been running ahead of Samkon Gado during recent OTAs.
Herron averaged 2.6 yards-per-carry with Pittsburgh and Green Bay as a rookie seventh-round pick out of Northwestern in 2005. If Najeh Davenport moves to fullback, Herron’s a good bet to make the team and is worth a look in very deep dynasty leagues.
  • CLE Running Back
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Noah Herron, “definitely has a place on our football team if he continues to perform like he has.”
It’s a strong statement, as Herron would probably have to push Samkon Gado, Najeh Davenport, or fullback Vonta Leach off the roster. McCarthy sees Herron as a RB/FB, which could limit any fantasy upside.
  • CLE Running Back
Packers coach Mike McCarthy has not named a No. 2 running back.
Noah Herron still has a chance to be Green Bay’s top backup. Samkon Gado is the other candidate behind Ahman Green on the depth chart.
  • CLE Running Back
    Steelers released RB Noah Herron.
He was running back insurance. This is a good sign that Duce Staley will play this weekend.
  • CLE Running Back
Steelers signed RB Noah Herron, a seventh-round pick, to a three-year contract.
Because he’s a Steelers running back, Herron is someone to watch long-term. Both Jerome Bettis and Verron Haynes could be gone after this year, so Herron may eventually be factor.
  • CLE Running Back
The Packers are expected to keep only three running backs this season.
P.J. Pope and Arliss Beach are most likely the odd men out with Vernand Morency and Brandon Jackson pretty secure. That would leave Noah Herron and seventh-round rookie DeShawn Wynn fighting for the third and final spot.
  • NO Running Back
Packers RB DeShawn Wynn will sit out the team’s next exhibition game.
He isn’t going to make the club over Noah Herron at this rate. His quad injury has now lasted over a week. Wynn, who coach Mike McCarthy says he hopes is ready for the third exhibition contest, has two weeks left until first cuts.
  • DEN Running Back
Packers RB P.J. Pope injured his knee in a full-contact workout during a scrimmage on Saturday night.
The extent of the injury was not revealed, but the Packers say it’s a sprain that could keep him out of action for a little while. Pope is battling Noah Herron, DeShawn Wynn, and Corey White for the No. 3 halfback job.
  • CLE Running Back
Packers third-string RB Noah Herron suffered a knee injury early in Thursday night’s game, but it’s not believed to be serious.
Herron, who started because Brandon Jackson (concussion) and Vernand Morency (knee) were out, said after the game that he would’ve continued had it been the regular season. He finished up with a six-yard scoring catch.
