Browns C Nick Harris will undergo surgery for his fractured fibula and be placed on injured reserve.
The Browns’ Nos. 1 and 2 centers, Ethan Pocic (knee) and Harris, have suffered injuries in consecutive weeks. The injury-plagued unit cannot catch a break this season. Hopefully, Pocic can return to play in Week 7.
  • CLE Center #53
Browns C Nick Harris was forced from Cleveland’s Week 6 game against the Eagles with an ankle injury.
Harris got rolled up in the game’s opening moments and had to be fitted for an air cast before getting carted to the locker room. Not good. Harris was already the No. 2 pivot, so the Browns’ injury-ruined offensive line is now down to its No. 3 center.
  • CLE Center #56
Browns acquired C Nick Harris and a 2026 seventh-round pick from Seahawks in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
Harris spent the first four years of his career with the Browns after the team drafted him in the 2020 NFL draft’s fifth round. He was allowed to walk in free agency and signed a one-year, $2.51 million deal with the Seahawks. The Browns’ front office evidently wanted him back and the Seahawks now have ample depth at the position, making him a redundant asset.
  • SEA Center #53
Seahawks agreed to terms with C Nick Harris, formerly of the Browns, on a one-year, $2.51 million deal.
With incentives, Harris could make up to $3.3 million, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Harris played with the Browns from 2020 to 2023, appearing in 40 games and starting four games.
  • CLE Center #53
Browns placed C Nick Harris (knee) on injured reserve.
A preseason knee injury in Jacksonville will end Harris’ season before it begins. Ethan Pocic appears the likely starter in Cleveland unless they decide to reunite with last year’s starter, unsigned free agent J.C. Tretter. The Browns will likely be looking for depth at center with both Tretter and Dawson Deaton on IR.

  • CLE Center #53
Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said C Nick Harris (knee) will likely need season-ending surgery.
Harris was carted off on the second play of the Browns’ preseason opener. The Browns’ projected starter after moving on from JC Tretter this offseason, Harris will now likely spend all of 2022 on IR. Backup OL Ethan Pocic is expected to replace Harris.

  • CLE Center #53
Browns C Nick Harris was carted off with a right knee injury in Friday’s preseason opener against Jacksonville.
Harris, the Browns’ projected starter at center, was injured on the second play of the game. The Browns may look to re-sign free agent J.C. Tretter if Harris has a long-term injury.

  • CLE Center #53
The Akron Beacon Journal’s Nate Ulrich reports Browns C Nick Harris is “okay” after getting poked in the eye during practice.
Harris left practice after suffering the injury and did not return. Ethan Pocic took his spot in the lineup. Harris has two starts two his name, one at center in 2021 and one at right guard in 2020. The fifth-round pick out of Washington became the next man up when Cleveland released J.C. Tretter in March. The eye issue shouldn’t sideline Harris for long.

  • CLE Center #55
Browns signed C Ethan Pocic, formerly of the Seahawks.
Pocic started 40 games over five years with the Seahawks, playing guard and center. He’ll join a Browns offensive line that recently lost staple JC Tretter, a longtime starter at center. A 2017 second round pick by the Seahawks, Pocic will likely start for a Cleveland line graded by PFF as the league’s 11th best pass blocking unit and the third best run blocking unit in 2021. Pocic could have to compete for the starting gig with Nick Harris.

  • CLE Running Back #24
Browns OC Alex Van Pelt said Nick Chubb and Demetric Felton are “trending in the right direction” for their Week 11 return from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
The same is true for C Nick Harris. It has been taken for granted that Chubb will be active and starting against the Lions, but he has yet to officially be activated from the reserve list. That has to happen by Saturday afternoon or he can’t play. We fully expect Chubb to be returned to the 53-man roster and operate as a top-shelf RB1 as an 11.5-point home favorite against the most talent-less team in the league.
