Atlanta Falcons:
The Falcons improved to 8-7 after delivering a 34-7 blow to the Giants in Week 16. Rookie QB Michael Penix Jr., making his first career start, completed 18-of-27 for 202 yards and one interception. RB Bijan Robinson finished with 22 carries for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns, while safety Jessie Bates III and LB Mathew Judon each had a pick-6.

The Falcons, who haven’t reached the playoffs since 2017, currently lead the NFC South. They are tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in record but hold the tiebreaker advantage. The Falcons can clinch the NFC South title on Sunday with a win over the Commanders and a Buccaneers loss to the Panthers.

Washington Commanders:
Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders kept their playoff dreams alive with a 36-33 victory over the Eagles last Sunday at home. Daniels completed 24-of-39 passes for 258 yards, throwing five touchdowns and two interceptions, and rushed for 81 yards on nine carries. WR Olamide Zaccheaus finished with five catches for 70 yards, including two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. However, it was WR Jamison Crowder who made the game-winning catch, securing the victory with just 6 seconds left on the clock.
Washington is now just one win away from returning to the playoffs for the first time since 2020. The Commanders can clinch a playoff berth on Sunday with a win against the Falcons or a loss by the Buccaneers.
