Giants agreed to terms with EDGE Chauncey Golston, formerly of the Cowboys, on a three-year, $19.5 million contract.
The 2021 third-rounder just wrapped up his rookie contract with something of a breakout campaign, though he’s already 27 years old. Golston notched 5.5 sacks last season after totaling just 4.5 through his first three years in the league. His 790 snaps were also close to double his previous career high. There could be more meat on the bone, but Golston is beyond the typical age of exponential improvement. He is versatile, possessing the bulk to kick insider along the interior in obvious passing situations.
  • NYG Linebacker #49
Giants agreed to terms with LB Chris Board, formerly of the Ravens, on a two-year contract.
The deal is worth “up to” $6 million. Board made a name for himself as a UDFA in Baltimore via his special teams prowess. He has since signed multi-year deals with multiple teams and even returned to Baltimore for the 2024 season. Board also got some run on defense last year and finished the season with 30 tackles plus one sack. He will fill a similar role in New York.
  • NYG Tackle #66
Giants signed OT James Hudson III, formerly of the Browns, to a two-year contract.
Hudson was a regular for the Browns through four seasons in the league, typically serving as somewhat of a sixth man for the Cleveland offensive line. That role afforded him 17 starts in 49 appearances through effectively three-plus seasons before landing on injured reserve with a shoulder injury in October of 2024. He brings experience at multiple positions along the offensive line to a Giants team that has struggled with health up front in recent years.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #86
Giants re-signed WR Darius Slayton to a three-year, $36 million contract.
Slayton remains with the Giants on a solid three-year deal after leading the team in receiving in four of his six years with the franchise. Even so, the speedster has peaked at 50 receptions (twice) and 770 yards during that time as a primary deep threat, leaving his fantasy value in the WR4 range for fantasy managers in deep leagues.
  • NYG Defensive Tackle #98
Giants signed DT Roy Robertson-Harris to a two-year, $9 million contract.
Robertson-Harris will likely play inside for the Giants on passing downs next to Dexter Lawrence. Entering his age-32 season, Robertson-Harris has had a solid career as an interior pocket pusher, but he’ll need to rebound off a down half-season with the Seahawks to be worth this deal.
  • NYG Cornerback #29
Giants agreed to terms with CB Paulson Adebo, formerly of the Saints, on a three-year, $54 million contract.
The former Saints corner heads to New York to be their lead defensive back. Adebo is currently recovering from a broken femur, but the Giants seemingly did their due diligence on the injury and are confident in a full recovery. Adebo totaled 10 pass breakups and three interceptions despite playing in just seven games last year. He will be a key addition for a Giants defense that ranked 21st in points allowed last year.
  • FA Quarterback #8
ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reports Aaron Rodgers joining the Giants “hardly seems like a slam dunk.”
As Raanan accurately points out, the Giants “are not the most desirable situation.” Outside of a stud second-year receiver in Malik Nabers and a star left tackle that missed most of last season in Andrew Thomas, the Giants are short on offensive talent. Rodgers going to the Giants would be little more than a move to extend his career while head coach Brian Daboll would hope it could keep his team competitive enough to buy him another season with Big Blue. With other teams like the Seahawks and Vikings possibly in need of a stopgap quarterback, Rodgers may have stronger options available to him on the open market.
  • NYG Tight End #85
Giants re-signed TE Chris Manhertz to a one-year contract.
The blocking tight end’s signing is good news for the fantasy expectations of second-year tight end Theo Johnson considering the only other pass-catching tight end on the roster is Daniel Bellinger. Manhertz brings little fantasy value in his own right.
  • NYG Punter #6
    Giants re-signed P Jamie Gillan to a three-year, $10.2 million contract.
The international superstar punter now stands as the NFL’s seventh-highest paid punter, re-signing with the Giants prior to hitting free agency next week. The six-year veteran is now under team control through the 2027 season.
  • PIT Quarterback #3
FOX’s Jordan Schultz reports the Giants “have been in on” free agent Russell Wilson.
Schultz also reports Wilson is maintaining an “open dialogue” with the Steelers, but that both he and Justin Fields appear to have strong free agent markets. The Steelers have made it clear they won’t be keeping both of their 2024 signal callers, but now the question becomes if they will be able to keep either. The Giants could have interest in Wilson as a potential piggyback option for a first-round quarterback.
