    Raiders released QB Nathan Peterman.
The 30-year-old legend was signed as an offseason camp arm. Genuinely one of the worst quarterbacks to ever make it close to a decade in the NFL, Peterman must read one hell of a playbook. He’ll be around for scout team/practice squad work.
  • FA Quarterback #10
Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Vinny Bonsignore reports the Raiders have signed Nathan Peterman.
Peterman finds work again by returning to the Raiders where he spent the 2020-2021 seasons. He enters a crowded quarterback room that includes Gardner Minshew and Aiden O’Connell, which likely means he’ll be an extra camp arm. Peterman enters his seventh season with four touchdown passes and 13 interceptions to his credit.
  • NO Quarterback #14
Saints agreed to terms with QB Nathan Peterman, formerly of the Bears, on a contract.
A career line of 712-4-13 on 160 career pass attempts isn’t enough to keep Peterman out of the game. For now, Peterman will likely compete with second-year quarterback Jake Haener for the Saint’s backup role, but they would be wise to consider adding at least one or two more quarterbacks via the draft of free agency.
  • CHI Running Back #24
Bears placed Khalil Herbert (ankle) on injured reserve.
The Bears also placed wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown on injured reserve. Nathan Peterman was signed to the active roster. Earlier in the week, CBS Sports’s Josina Anderson reported Herbert suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 5. We haven’t seen a confirming report yet, but Herbert landing on injured reserve likely means Anderson was right. D’Onta Foreman will start in Week 6 with Roschon Johnson out because of a concussion. Johnson should take on the starting gig in Week 7 if he is able to return.
  • CHI Defensive Back #6
Bears designated CB Kyler Gordon to return from injured reserve.
Gordon was placed on injured reserve following the team’s Week 1 loss to the Packers, but is no eligible to return as early as Week 6. Gordon is hoping to make a second-year leap after a challenging rookie season that saw him earn a PFF coverage grade of 46.4. His return will be a welcomed one, as the Bears have already suffered several losses to their secondary this season. In addition to Gordon being designated for return, the Bears also signed Nathan Peterman, who they have released twice in the last month.
  • FA Quarterback #14
    Bears released QB Nathan Peterman.
The last time the Bears released Peterman he was back with the team within hours. Not exactly an in-demand veteran, if the Bears want Peterman back next week, he’ll almost certainly be there. With a Thursday night matchup against the Commanders on tap, the Bears will enter Week 5 with only Justin Fields and rookie Tyson Bagent on the roster.
  • CHI Quarterback #14
    Bears re-signed QB Nathan Peterman.
Peterman was a free agent for less than 24 hours before the Bears opted to bring him back. Now back on the 53-man roster, Peterman will presumably serve as the Bears’ No. 2 quarterback behind Justin Fields in Week 3 against the Buccaneers.
  • Quarterback #14
    Bears released QB Nathan Peterman.
Peterman had beaten out undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent to start the season, but it now appears that Bagent will operate as Justin Fields’ back-up. Peterman has thrown four touchdown passes and 13 interceptions on 160 career passes, but has been on an NFL roster for five straight seasons since being drafted in the 5th round by the Bills in 2017.
  • CHI Quarterback #14
Bears named Nathan Peterman as their backup quarterback.
Peterman has narrowly edged out rookie UDFA Tyson Bagent — for now. Bagent made the Bears 53-man roster after a solid training camp and preseason, but Peterman is likely receiving the edge as a veteran quarterback entering his seventh season. If Justin Fields were to ever miss time, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Bagent earn a chance to start. Peterman has thrown four touchdown passes and 13 interceptions on 160 career passes — which gets more shocking every time you read it.
  • FA Tight End #88
    Bears waived TE Stephen Carlson.
The team reportedly hopes to have Carlson back on the practice squad if he clears waivers. The rookie tight end earned an opportunity to compete for a roster spot after a strong training camp and caught five passes for 47 yards in the preseason. In addition to Carlson, the Bears also released/waived LB Micah Baskerville, DT Travis Bell, FB Robert Burns, CB Macon Clark, OT Kellen Diesch, OG Dieter Eiselen, LB DeMarquis Gates, DE Trevis Gipson, DE Jalen Harris, OT Bobby Haskins, DE D’Anthony Jones, OG Josh Lugg, OT Roy Mbaeteka, CB Michael Ojemudia, TE Lachlan Pitts, DT Bravvion Roy, OG Logan Stenberg, LB Davion Taylor, S Bralen Trahan, CB Kindle Vildor, LB Barrington Wade, LB Mykal Walker, S Kendall Williamson, DT Andrew Brown, OT Aviante Collins, WR Daurice Fountain, QB Nathan Peterman, CB Greg Stroman Jr., and WR Nsimba Webster.
