Texans re-signed CB Myles Bryant to a contract.
Bryant spent four seasons with the Patriots after signing on as a 2020 undrafted free agent. He signed with the Texans last offseason, debuting in Week 6 and logging 156 defensive snaps through their Divisional Round playoff loss to the Chiefs. He tallied 15 tackles and three forced incompletions during that span. The Texans also signed undrafted free agent DB Keydrain Calligan and waived OG Jerome Carvin and DE Kingsley Jonathan.
  • HOU Tight End #85
Texans placed TE Teagan Quitoriano on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Quitoriano, 24 appeared in seven games, but has not received a single target in 2024. Myles Bryant was promoted to the active roster in the corresponding move.
  • HOU Running Back #31
Texans declared RB Dameon Pierce, LB Azeez Al-Shaair, S Jimmie Ward, CB Myles Bryant and C/G Jarrett Patterson inactive for Week 9 against the Jets.
Pierce was ruled out earlier in the week because of his groin injury. The Texans will also be missing Ward due to a groin issue, Patterson with a concussion and Al-Shaair out due to a shoulder injury.
  • HOU Cornerback #27
Patriots tendered restricted free agent S Myles Bryant at the original-round level.
This year’s “low” tender is worth $2.6 million. It gives the Pats the right of first refusal if Bryant signs an offer sheet elsewhere. Since he is a former UDFA, the Pats will receive no compensation if Bryant signs and New England does not match. Bryant was the Pats’ primary slot corner last season, but they are probably looking for an upgrade after he was a weak link over the middle of the field.
