Eagles DL Moro Ojomo and WR Tyrie Cleveland were both backboarded from Thursday’s preseason game against the Browns with neck injuries.
Scary, though both players were reported to have feeling in their extremities. The backboard is usually “just” a precaution, though it obviously always denotes a potentially serious situation. Thankfully in this case, it would seem both players have avoided truly serious injury.
  • PHI EDGE #97
Eagles selected Texas DT Moro Ojomo with the No. 249 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Ojomo (6’2.625/292) is an interesting evaluation. Even with five years of college on his resume, he is still only 21. A trim 292 pounds, Ojomo played all over the line in Austin, utilizing his 88th percentile explosion and his class-best wingspan. Ojomo is regularly at full extension, providing a brick wall effect in the running game thanks to good get off. He underperformed on the stat sheet, along with most of the Longhorns defenses during his time there. Due to his lack of mass, he may be moved out to three tech. His strength will never be penetration or pass rush, though he is quick enough he doesn’t have a good understanding of how to get around a blocker. Ojomo is a good run stopper that will free up his linebackers to make a play around him.
