Rams LT Orlando Pace will miss the rest of the season with a torn right labrum and rotator cuff.
The Rams’ best bet now is to try Alex Barron, a strong pass protector, on the blind side and move Milford Brown to the first unit at right tackle. Pace, 32, will have missed 23 of a possible 32 games when he enters next season. The entire Rams offense is going to suffer.
  • NO Defensive Lineman
Cardinals DT Kendrick Clancy, FB Obafemi Ayanbadejo, and G Milford Brown are mentioned as possible June 1st cuts for Arizona.
The importance of June first cuts has lessened in recent years as teams have managed their cap better and have a “June first exemption” to use before the actual date. But we’ll still probably see a handful of decent vets released this week.
  • The Dolphins have been in contact with free agent G Milford Brown.
Brown, who was cut by Arizona last month, reportedly phoned the ‘Fins but the team was “noncommital.” He’s likely to find a taker early in training camp.
  • Rams RG Richie Incognito is not expected to play in Week 1.
Incognito has a high ankle sprain. The Rams have decent depth behind him with former starter Claude Terrell and newly acquired Milford Brown.
  • Rams RG Richie Incognito (ankle) will return to the lineup this week.
Incognito’s high ankle sprain cost him the first four weeks. Milford Brown will slide over to right tackle, with Claude Terrell at right guard. The Rams’ only projected starting lineman at his original position is C Brett Romberg.
  • The Cardinals have reportedly demanded that guard Milford Brown and defensive tackle Kendrick Clancy restructure their contracts.
If they refuse, the Cards will release the incumbent starters, according to Profootballtalk.com. Clancy’s agent already informed PFT that his client has no plans to restructure. Brown signed a sizeable contract in the 2006 offseason, didn’t play well, and will be a backup if he stays.
  • NO Defensive Lineman
Cardinals released DT Kendrick Clancy and G Milford Brown.
Clancy received $3.5 million to sign a year ago, but is better suited to be a quality backup than a starter. Look for his old team, the Giants, to show immediate interest. Brown’s future is less certain, but he’ll probably get a job somewhere. Gabe Watson has moved into Clancy’s old starting job.
  • The Cardinals are expected to release guard Milford Brown.
He’s simply too expensive to keep on as a backup to Reggie Wells and Taitusi Lutui. The athletic Brown should find a taker on the free agent market.
  • Free agent G Milford Brown, who was released by the Cardinals on Tuesday, could reportedly be an option for the Dolphins.
Coach Cam Cameron likes guards quick and athletic, and Brown fits the bill. Miami currently has journeyman Chris Liwienski penciled in as a starter.
  • FA Tackle #77
The Rams will use Alex Barron as their new starting left tackle.
Barron was an All-ACC left tackle at Florida State, and if he limits his false starts, should prove a capable replacement for Orlando Pace. Milford Brown has been inserted at right tackle with Claude Terrell at right guard.
