The Ravens are trying out former Boston College linebacker Mike McLaughlin at fullback.
At 6'0/252, he’s built stoutly like a fullback. McLaughlin had a productive college career, but went undrafted in April. With Edgar Jones back at linebacker, McLaughlin will try to make the team behind Le’Ron McClain.

Broncos signed FB Mike McLaughlin, OGs Shawn Murphy and Manuel Ramirez, and OT Herb Taylor to reserve/future contracts.
Murphy is Dale’s son, but has amounted to little after being selected in the 2008 fourth round by Miami. McLaughlin was a linebacker at Boston College.

Ravens released FB Mike McLaughlin with an injury settlement.
McLaughlin, nicknamed “Alstott” early in training camp, was placed on injured reserve last week with a sports hernia.

Ravens rookie FB Mike McLaughlin has earned the nickname “Alstott” from RB Willis McGahee.
Not a bad way to begin your transition from linebacker to fullback. The Boston College product still has a long way to go to reach Alstott’s level, but he’s been making an impression at camp and is currently the frontrunner to make the team as Le’Ron McClain’s backup, which is a good start.

Ravens placed FB Mike McLaughlin on injured reserve with a sports hernia, ending his season.
McLaughlin was facing an uphill battle, transitioning from Boston College linebacker to Ravens lead blocker. He may be brought back for 2011 camp.
