Dolphins signed QB Mike Glennon to the team’s practice squad.
Miami’s season is officially circling the drain with this move. Glennon, one of the worst quarterbacks of the modern era, could see playing time in Week 18 against the Jets if Skylar Thompson gets dinged up. Teddy Bridgewater (finger) likely won’t play and Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) is out. This is not what Mike McDaniel had in mind when the Dolphins were the league’s hottest team 60 days ago.

  • FA Quarterback #4
Free agent QBs A.J. McCarron, Garrett Gilbert, Kevin Hogan, Mike Glennon, and Kurt Benkert worked out for the 49ers on Tuesday.
McCarron suffered a torn ACL in the 2021 preseason and has had no visits or interest since. This is a rough crew, but that’s what happens when you lose a quarterback in-season. Gilbert has started a game in each of the last two seasons and is probably the most competent option on the list. Glennon started four disastrous games with the Giants last year and has the most recent starting experience.

  • MIA Quarterback #2
Giants declared QB Mike Glennon, WR Kadarius Toney and WR John Ross inactive for Week 18 against Washington.
Due to roster mismanagement from this hapless organization, New York has only 51 players on its active roster, hence the short inactives list. Without hyperbole, it can be stated that 32-year-old Glennon was the worst quarterback in the league this season. Put in position to fail, he did just that with a laughable 4:10 TD:INT total and 4.7 YPA on 167 attempts. Glennon can’t help that the G-Men gave him so much run, but it was truly inexcusable from a team that heads into the offseason as a laughingstock. Teams need to think bigger than letting impending free agent Glennon compete for No. 2 work in 2022.

  • MIA Quarterback #2
Giants coach Joe Judge said Mike Glennon injured his hand in Week 17 and will undergo surgery.
This rules out Glennon for Week 18 and maybe that’s for the best. Glennon’s first two drives of Week 17 ended in turnovers and the Giants’ offense gave up on passing entirely after that. He ended the day with 24 passing yards. Jake Fromm will get his second start of the year versus Washington in the coming week. We’d say he can’t be worse than Glennon but Fromm threw for 25 yards and an interception in his previous start.

  • MIA Quarterback #2
Mike Glennon completed 4-of-11 passes for 24 yards and two interceptions in the Giants’ Week 17 loss to the Bears.
Glennon got strip-sacked on his first dropback. On the Giants’ second offensive drive, the veteran quarterback tried to squeeze it into Kenny Golladay on a third-and-long, but the ball got deflected and intercepted. At this point, Giants coach Joe Judge gave up on the game and Glennon threw one pass in the entire rest of the half despite the fact that New York was trailing by multiple possessions. The Giants continued to establish it in the second half and Glennon looked like a complete disaster on the rare occasion that they did try to throw. New York’s passing game is in utter disarray right now, and it’s impossible to trust anyone in this offense outside of perhaps Saquon Barkley right now.

  • MIA Quarterback #2
Speaking Wednesday on Mike Glennon and Jake Fromm, Joe Judge said to “expect both guys to play” in Week 17 against the Bears.
Judge elaborated that he plans to toggle his quarterbacks based on situation and what each player can do in certain packages. That sounds great on Wednesday, but given that the two players in question are Glnnon and Fromm, this plan is likely to devolve into a haphazard tilt spiral on gameday. The Giants passing game is radioactive for fantasy purposes. Even Saquon Barkley is unlikely to deliver a ton of value unless he can deliver enough big plays to overcome his atrocious circumstances.

  • MIA Quarterback #2
Mike Glennon completed 17-of-27 passes for 93 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Giants’ Week 16 loss to the Eagles.
Jake Fromm got the start, but he only completed 6-of-17 passes for 25 yards before getting benched for Glennon. The veteran wasn’t much better, averaging a terrible 3.4 yards per attempt and throwing a pick-six to Eagles LB Alex Singleton. The Giants’ quarterback situation is in dire straits with Daniel Jones out for the year. Glennon is likely the starter next week after Fromm’s performance today, but he is possibly the worst starting quarterback in the league right now.

  • DET Quarterback #18
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports QB Jake Fromm will start for the Giants in Week 16 against the Eagles.
Fromm is starting over Mike Glennon, who has been completely inept in place of Daniel Jones this year. Glennon has two touchdowns and five interceptions while averaging a ghastly 4.6 yards per throw. Even if Fromm flops in his first start, we can’t blame the Giants for trying. The quarterback change doesn’t the complexion of the offense much and it may even give everyone involved a higher ceiling. The odds of New York achieving that ceiling remain slim.

  • MIA Quarterback #2
Giants coach Joe Judge declined to name a starting quarterback on Monday.
The coach said they would have to watch the tape. Once they do, it is difficult to imagine the Giants sticking with Mike Glennon at quarterback following a horrific outing against the Cowboys. It would be a surprise if Jake Fromm is not under center against the Eagles.

  • MIA Quarterback #2
Mike Glennon completed 13-of-24 passes for 99 yards and three interceptions in the Giants’ Week 15 loss to the Cowboys.
Glennon was a complete disaster and got pulled for Jake Fromm in the fourth quarter, although the game was already out of hand at that point. He had three picks, two of which were directly his fault (on the other interception, he was shellacked right as he released the ball). If Daniel Jones’ neck injury keeps him out the rest of the year, New York could turn to Fromm after three consecutive subpar games out of Glennon. That might be a good thing for fantasy-relevant Giants, as it can’t possibly get any worse than it has been.
