Surgery isn’t likely but Stewart should be out for some time. Kenard Lang will pick up snaps in his place.

“He hasn’t played for a while so I don’t know that you just want to throw him in there,” coach Romeo Crennel said. “It seems logical that if he can go, we’ll rotate him in.”

Stewart returned last Sunday from a right knee injury. The fifth-year linebacker has just one tackle in four games.

Cleveland continues to make solid, quiet additions. Stewart was second on the Falcons with 89 tackles and can play both inside and outside linebacker in Cleveland’s new 3-4. He’ll have a good chance to start.

Losing Willie McGinest for at least six weeks and Stewart for potentially the entire season is a big blow to the Browns’ defense, especially from a depth standpoint. Coach Romeo Crennel says Chaun Thompson will move to the outside, with Antwan Peek joining the first-team defense.

Moore was beat out by Monty Beisel and undrafted rookie Ali Highsmith. Harrington is a developmental guy. He was a sixth-rounder in April.

Stewart spent 2007 on I.R. after undergoing shoulder surgery. Arizona is quite deep at outside linebacker with Chike Okeafor, Travis LaBoy, Bertrand Berry and Clark Haggans in front of Stewart, so he may struggle to last long.

Stewart missed all of last season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn muscle in his shoulder. It happened in August, so he should be healthy now.
