Bears agreed to terms with OL Matt Pryor, formerly of the 49ers, on a one-year contract.
As beat writer Adam Jahns points out, Pryor overlapped with Bears coach Matt Eberflus in Indy in 2021. Pryor is versatile but tends to quickly get overexposed. Turning 30 in December, he won’t be a lock for the 53-man roster.

49ers signed OL Matt Pryor, formerly of the Colts, to a one-year contract.
The 49ers will hope Pryor’s signing is nothing more than a move for added depth after he was graded as one of the worst offensive linemen in the league last season. Playing at both tackle positions and right guard in 2022, Pryor allowed 31 quarterback pressures and six sacks on 576 snaps -- allowing his quarterback to be pressured on nearly eight percent of dropbacks.

ESPN’s Stephen Holder writes that Matt Pryor “is getting the first team reps” at left tackle while Bernhard Raimann “is off to a bit of a slow start.”
Trying to replace stopgap Eric Fisher, the Colts appear to be trending towards giving the veteran Pryor a shot on Matt Ryan’s blind side. Pryor finished with a 76.5 PFF grade in 2021 after coming over in August from the Eagles. He did start one game at left tackle against the Raiders in Week 17.

Colts re-signed OG Matt Pryor to a one-year, $5.5 million contract.
Acquired for a picks swap on the eve of 2021 season, ex-Eagle Pryor ended up providing critical depth as the first lineman off Indianapolis’ bench. Although he spent most of his time subbing at right tackle, he also put in stints at left tackle and right guard. He earned high marks from Pro Football Focus in the process. 2022 will be Pryor’s age-28 campaign.

Colts acquired OG Matt Pryor and a 2022 seventh-round pick from the Eagles in exchange for a 2022 six-round pick.
When healthy, the Eagles have an elite group of starting offensive linemen. Pryor, who started ten games for Philly last year, was not close to cracking the starting rotation this year. The Colts have already suffered a number of injuries across their offensive line, forcing them to make a move for some depth. Pryor also gives them some flexibility as it was reported that Quenton Nelson moving to left tackle was in play this year.

Eagles RG Matt Pryor was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Pryor on Thursday was ruled out for the team’s Week 6 game against the Ravens. Hopefully no more Eagles players find their way onto the COVID list in the coming days. Jamon Brown will start in Pryor’s place against Baltimore.

Eagles RG Matt Pryor (illness) has been ruled out for Week 6.
Pryor is in the illness protocol and will miss Sunday’s game. Jamon Brown will start for Pryor.

Eagles LG Isaac Seumalo was forced from Philadelphia’s Week 2 game against the Rams with a knee injury and will not return.
The last thing the Eagles’ injury-ruined offensive line needed. Seumalo disappeared in the first half and was ruled out after the break. Matt Pryor will finish out the game on Carson Wentz’s left side.

Eagles placed LT Andre Dillard on injured reserve with a torn biceps, ending his season.
Absolutely brutal for a team that had already lost RG Brandon Brooks (Achilles’) for the season. The No. 22 overall pick of last year’s draft, Dillard will go under the knife. Dillard was uneven as a rookie blindside protector but showed promise before adding over 20 pounds this offseason. He appeared poised to be an impressive mix of power and athleticism. The Eagles must now decide where to use recently re-signed veteran Jason Peters. Peters had been slated to take Brooks’ spot, but left tackle has been his home for years. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo expects Peters to man left tackle. Matt Pryor appears to be the next man up at guard. It’s far from an ideal situation for the Eagles. Old for a second-year pro, Dillard turns 25 in October.

  • FA Guard #79
Brandon Brooks’ status for Sunday’s Wild Card game against the Seahawks is “uncertain.”
Brooks was carted off with a dislocated shoulder in Week 17 and will head for more tests Monday. Miles Sanders was also hurt in Sunday’s regular-season finale and will undergo an MRI to assess the damage to his injured ankle. Matt Pryor would spell Brooks at right guard if he can’t go against Seattle in Round 1.
