Bills K Matt Prater (quad/calf) is practicing in full for the Divisional Round against the Broncos.
Prater was listed as a DNP for Tuesday’s walkthrough but should be good to go now. He nailed both of his field goal tries in the Wild Card Round. The Bills will continue to ease his workload with Mitch Wishnowsky handling punts in the postseason.
  • BUF Kicker #15
Bills K Matt Prater (quad/calf) did not participate in Tuesday’s walkthrough.
Prater was active for the Bills’ Wild Card game, sinking both of his field goal attempts in the victory. The 41-year-old has played through a few ailments this season and will likely do so again if he can. Prater was listed as DNP for the Bills’ walkthrough, dealing with quad and calf issues. Practice reports later in the week will tell if Prater will officially go in the Saturday Divisional matchup against the Broncos, otherwise Matthew Wright will be called up from the practice squad.
  • BUF Running Back #26
Bills declared RB Ty Johnson, LB Terrel Bernard, CB Maxwell Hairston (ankle), DT Larry Ogunjobi, S Darnell Savage, OL Tylan Grable, TE Keleki Latu inactive for the Wild Card Round against the Jaguars.
Johnson suffered the ankle injury in the Bills’ final game of the regular season. He only practiced once this week before being listed as questionable. Ray Davis will see more work in his absence. James Cook could also be used more on passing plays, upping his fantasy value for Sunday’s DFS slate. Kicker Matt Prater is active.
  • BUF Kicker #15
Bills K Matt Prater (right quad) is questionable for Buffalo’s Wild Card game against the Jaguars.
With a practice report of DNP-Full-DNP, we’re not entirely sure what to believe here. What we know is that if the Bills trust Prater to kick through this, they’ll roll with him on Sunday. If not, Matthew Wright will get the #RevengeGame honors against the Jaguars.
  • BUF Kicker #15
Bills K Matt Prater (quad) practiced in full on Thursday.
It sure sounds like Prater will be Buffalo’s kicker if healthy on Sunday, and the full designation would appear to have it lean that way. If it isn’t Prater, it will be recent practice-squad addition Matthew Wright.
  • BUF Kicker #15
Bills K Matt Prater (quad) did not practice Wednesday.
Prater appeared to re-injure his quad in Week 18’s meaningless game against the Jets and is now iffy for the Wild Card round against Jacksonville. The Bills could re-sign veteran journeyman K Michael Badgley, who spent time on the practice squad in December. Prater has converted 18 of his 20 field goal tries this season.
  • BUF Kicker #15
Matt Prater was ruled out for the remainder of Week 18 with a quad injury.
Prater missed the last two games with a quad injury, but was able to return for this one. That may have been a mistake by the Bills. It appears Prater reaggravated his injury on his third extra point attempt, so the Bills will play the remainder of the game without a kicker. What’s worse, the Bills may have to find another kicker for the playoffs. They had Michael Badgley on their roster for the last two weeks, but he was released from the practice squad, so they’ll likely hold tryouts this week.
  • BUF Kicker #15
Bills K Matt Prater (quad) is practicing fully for Week 18 against the Jets.
The Bills released K Michael Badgley from the practice squad on Monday. He had an extra point attempt blocked by the Eagles last week. Given Badgley’s release and Prater’s full participation, we expect Prater to kick for the Bills in Week 18 against the Jets. He could be fairly busy in his first game back.
  • FA Kicker #32
Bills released K Michael Badgley from the practice squad.
Badgley had a PAT blocked after being elevated from the practice squad in the one-point loss to the Eagles in Week 17. Matt Prater (quad) is expected to be ready to kick in Week 18 as well as the playoffs.
  • BUF Kicker #15
Matt Prater (quad) will not play in Week 17 against the Eagles.
Michael Badgley will again draw the start in place of Prater. Badgley went 2-for-3 on extra points last week and also made his only field goal attempt. Badgley has made 11-of-12 field goal attempts this season while splitting time between the Colts and Bills, and could be a worthwhile streaming option if needed. In addition to Prater, the Bills also ruled out DT Jordan Phillips and S Jordan Poyer. Backup safety Jordan Hancock will likely start in Poyer’s absence.
