    Giants released P Matt Haack.
Jamie Gillian will likely be ready to return this week against the Panthers. The Giants also waived ST/DB Nick McCloud.

Giants signed P Matt Haack, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Jamie Gillan is questionable for Week 6 against the Bengals with a hamstring injury. The Giants brought in veteran punter Haack as a contingency plan. Schefter notes that Haack is expected to punt this week, which bodes poorly for Gillan’s availability.

    Bills released P Matt Haack.
Haack signed with the Bills earlier this offseason after joining their practice squad in January. The veteran punter appeared in just one game for the Browns last season, attempting three punts while averaging 41.7 net yards per punt. He’s bounced around four different teams since being let go by the Dolphins after the 2020 season but has enough experience to catch on elsewhere and compete for a job in camp.

    Cardinals cut P Matt Haack.
The team signed RB Stevie Scott in a corresponding move. Haack was cut by the Bills near the end of training camp last year but landed with the Colts before the start of the season. He served as Indy’s primary punter for the entire year. It’s possible he finds a similar path to playing time this year. Nolan Cooney appears to have won the punting gig in Arizona.

    Colts signed P Matt Haack.
28-year-old Haack was just cut by the Bills after rookie Matt Araiza beat him out for the job. Haack quickly lands back on his feet after the Colts lost P Rigoberto Sanchez to a torn Achilles’ Tuesday. Haack’s 38.4 net average last season was one of the worst in the league.

Bills P Matt Araiza will be the team’s Week 1 punter.
Buffalo released P Matt Haack, leaving the “punt god” as the team’s lone punter to start the regular season. Araiza, drafted by Buffalo with the 180th pick in the 2022 draft, punted 79 times with an average of 51.2 yards and with a total of 4,044 yards at San Diego State, becoming a folk legend along the way. In his first preseason punt, Araiza boomed the ball 82 yards -- stunning everyone on the field and in the stands. He’ll take on punting duties for a Bills team that finished 27th in total punts last season.

Bills signed P Matt Haack, formerly of the Dolphins.
A 2017 UDFA, Haack started every game the past four years for Miami. Although Haack was only 20th in net-punting average last season, his addition almost certainly means restricted free agent P Corey Bojorquez will not be tendered an offer by the Bills.

  • Dolphins signed P Michael Palardy.
Palardy, born and raised in South Florida, was cut by the Panthers last week. He’ll take over as Miami’s punter with Matt Haack scheduled to become a free agent next week. Palardy missed the 2020 season after tearing his ACL in a pickup basketball game.

    Dolphins re-signed P Matt Haack to a one-year, $2.133 million contract.
It’s the value of his original-round tender as a restricted free agent. Haack was 23rd in net punting average last season and 20th in punts landed inside the 20-yard line. Th Dolphins could easily look to upgrade on Haack via the draft or UDFA market.

  • FA Punter #38
Dolphins extended an original-round tender to restricted free agent P Matt Haack.
Haack has served as the Dolphins’ punter since 2017. He was in the bottom half of the league in net-punting average last season.
