Ravens starting defensive end Marques Douglas is out 4-6 weeks with a dislocated elbow.
Second-year pro Jarrett Johnson will replace Douglas in the starting lineup. Douglas will miss at least one regular season game.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #95
The Broncos are believed to have interest in free agent DLs Tommy Kelly, Justin Smith, and Marques Douglas, according to the Denver Post.
Smith would fit at left end in Denver, but his price tag will be high. Kelly is younger and should come at a more manageable rate. The 49ers are letting Douglas hit the market because they think he’ll get huge offers elsewhere.
  • TEN Defensive Lineman
Starting defensive end Marques Douglas will return from an elbow injury sooner than expected.
Douglas was expected to miss at least one regular season game, but he returned to practice yesterday. He’ll be ready by week one.
  • TEN Defensive Lineman
Marques Douglas will visit with the Broncos today.
With seven sacks last year, Douglas is a consistent option as a 3-4 DE. His upside is limited, but you could do worse in deep IDP leagues.
  • TEN Defensive Lineman
The Broncos are talking to former Ravens DE Marques Douglas.
We’re surprised how quiet the market has been for Douglas so far. He’s a solid end in a 3-4 defense and plenty of teams are switching to the defense this offseason.
  • TEN Defensive Lineman
Ravens DE Marques Douglas visited with the Browns on Wednesday.
He’ll probably help replace Courtney Brown. Douglas is a solid 3-4 DE and another Baltimore transplant possibly coming with GM Phil Savage.
  • TEN Defensive Lineman
49ers head coach Mike Nolan said in his post-game press conference Sunday that he’d like for the team to re-sign DE Marques Douglas.
Douglas had a strong season in 2007, finishing with 71 tackles, three sacks, and three breakups. He’s a longtime veteran of Nolan’s 3-4 scheme.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #71
49ers NT Isaac Sopoaga and DE Marques Douglas are expected to hit the free agent market on February 29.
The 49ers would like to have both back, but Sopoaga will want to check his value after his best season yet. At 6'2/332, he’ll be attractive to several 3-4 teams. Douglas and San Francisco are said to be far apart in negotiations.
  • TEN Defensive Lineman
49ers DE Marques Douglas hopes to stay with the 49ers despite becoming an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
Douglas is loyal to head coach Mike Nolan, but says that contract talks with the 49ers have been minimal, partially due to the uncertainty surrounding Nolan’s future. Still, all signs point to him returning in 2008.
  • NYJ Defensive Lineman
NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi reports that Jets NT Kris Jenkins is done for the year with a left knee injury.
The exact extent of the injury isn’t clear, but Jenkins is believed to have ligament damage and will likely need surgery. The Jets were allowing 4.0 yards per carry with four rushing touchdowns against, but suddenly become an easier matchup for opposing running backs. Most likely, usual DE Sione Pouha will move to nose tackle with Marques Douglas or Mike DeVito entering the starting lineup. The Jets lose quite a bit of girth up front.
