Panthers signed WR Marcus Monk, formerly of the Bears.
Monk’s size-speed combination was easy to like coming out of Arkansas a year ago, but that he couldn’t catch onto an NFL practice squad as a rookie is concerning. Barring numerous injuries, Monk won’t make the Panthers.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
Bears waived WR Marcus Monk, DB Leslie Majors, S Josh Gattis, and WR Ryan Grice-Mullen.
Monk, a seventh-round pick, was a project coming out of run-first Arkansas and it showed in camp as he struggled to beat the jam. He’s a candidate for the practice squad. Grice-Mullen played with Colt Brennan in college.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
Giants claimed WR Marcus Monk off waivers from the Bears.
Monk was drafted in the seventh round, and he had difficulties fighting through jams. He’ll likely wind up on some team’s practice squad this season.
  • WAS Quarterback
Giants signed QB Andre Woodson and WR Marcus Monk to their practice squad.
Woodson will be the third QB in theory behind Eli Manning and David Carr. It’s not a surprise Woodson drew little interest after a poor training camp.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
Giants waived WR Marcus Monk, FB Robert Douglas, OG Kurt Quarterman, TE Eric Butler, DT Ogemdi Nwagbuo, LB James Terry, and OL Cliff Louis.
The Jints will likely try to get Monk onto the practice squad. He has a high long-term ceiling at 6'4/222 with wheels. Quarterman went to Louisville.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
Bears signed seventh-round WR Marcus Monk to a four-year contract.
You wouldn’t know it by his draft status or college production, but Monk is a pretty intriguing prospect. He got hurt as a senior and played in a run-first Arkansas offense, but possesses adequate speed and teriffic size. If Monk stays healthy in camp, he should have a good chance at a roster spot.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
Bears selected Arkansas WR Marcus Monk with the No. 248 overall pick in the draft.
Monk’s numbers at Arkansas were relatively weak, but the Razorbacks’ offense was extremely run heavy. Monk is 6'5/222 with big hands and mid-4.4 speed. WRs coach Darryl Drake should be licking his chops. Had Monk not gotten hurt as a senior, he would’ve been in the third- to fourth-round mix.
