Marcellus Wiley, G Andre Gurode, LT Flozell Adams, and LB Dexter Coakley are among the players who may be released by Dallas this offseason.
Look for Dallas to be far more active this offseason.
  • JAX Defensive Lineman
The Cowboys will probably use a rotation of Marcellus Wiley and Kenyon Coleman at left defensive end.
Defensive end Greg Ellis will play on the right side, though Eric Ogbogu will replace him in some pass-rushing situations.
  • JAX Defensive Lineman
    Cowboys released DE Marcellus Wiley.
Wiley was quite possibly the worst free agent signing in the NFL last season. It’s hard to imagine him finding a starting job again. Dallas needs a pass rusher badly and will look hard at one in the draft.
  • JAX Defensive Lineman
The Jaguars signed free agent DE Marcellus Wiley to a one-year contract.
Wiley is the final piece to an already talented front four for the Jaguars. He and (fellow free agent aquisition) Reggie Hayward will anchor the ends and the rock solid Marcus Stroud and John Henderson will man the tackle positions. Wiley very well could end up with a long term contract before the season is over. The addition of Wiley helps solidify the Jaguars as a potential top 10 fantasy team defense in 2005.
  • JAX Defensive Lineman
Former Bills, Jaguars, and Cowboys DE Marcellus Wiley is expected to retire this offseason.
Wiley barely played for the Jags in 2006. A former second-round pick, Wiley never did much after tallying 39.5 sacks between 2000 and 2002 despite lasting five more years. He’s currently working as an NFL Network analyst.

Retired player Marcellus Wiley says “the chips are stacked against” Mike Smith being a successful NFL head coach.
Wiley played for Smith in 2006. “They went way down on the totem pole for this,” he said. “I won’t say he was a puppet figure, but...Mike Smith wasn’t the guy guys in the locker room respected. I saw guys disrespect him. I don’t know if he’s ready for this platform. I just question this move.”
  • JAX Defensive Lineman
Former Chargers defensive lineman Marcellus Wiley is visiting with the Cowboys on Tuesday.
Wiley has also visited Seattle. Wiley could solve Dallas’ defensive end problems. They attempted to sign Bertrand Berry last week.
  • JAX Defensive Lineman
The Cowboys signed former Charger and Bills defensive end Marcellus Wiley. to $16 million four-year deal that includes a $4.5 million bonus.
The four-year, $16 million deal includes a $4.5 million bonus. Wiley is big upgrade over Ebenezer Ekuban at end and just as good as Bertrand Berry at a cheaper price.
  • JAX Defensive Lineman
Jaguars re-signed Marcellus Wiley to an undisclosed contract.
It’s probably a one-year deal. Once a big name, Wiley is now a useful reserve that won’t get much playing.
