Colts declared LB Shaquille Leonard (back) inactive for Week 1 against the Texans.
Leonard was officially ruled out on Friday. He’s got a chance to return next week, as he practiced in at least a limited capacity in all three days leading up to Week 1. It’s a small boost for Dameon Pierce’s prospects. Also inactive for the Colts are QB Sam Ehlinger, WR Dezmon Patmon, CB Dallis Flowers, C Wesley French, and T Luke Tenuta.

  • IND Tackle
Bills selected Virginia Tech OT Luke Tenuta with the No. 209 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Tenuta (6'8/319) started 15 games at right tackle and 11 games at left tackle for Virginia Tech, which is versatility that will help him stick in the NFL as a swing tackle. His 77.5 and 85.7 PFF grades over the past two years show an effective player. Tenuta is a giant, and while that means he loses the leverage battle against most opponents, it also means his coverage area is huge, and it’s no easy feat to get past him. He’s a solid athlete, especially considering his size, displaying solid mobility in getting into space. He’s far from lumbering and can reach and wall off the second level. Tenuta’s effort and football acumen are also not in question, and he reads opposing rushers well, not falling for tricks and stunts very often. His lateral movement isn’t the best, nor are his hands, which can lead to below-expected play strength. Combined with his less than ideal length and high pads, that can lead to problems. Overall, his size, versatility and football IQ will give him a chance to stick in the NFL.
