Havrisik

The signing of Havrisik creates some added competition for Tyler Bass, who has converted on just 9-of-12 field goals this season and had a bad miss on an extra-point attempt in Monday night’s win over the Jets — it was the second extra point Bass missed this season. Havrisik has converted on 15-of-20 field goal attempts in his career, with two of his field goals coming from distances of 50-plus yards. We’ll see if Bass is with the team when they take the field in Week 7 against the Titans.

Ditto Lucas Havrisik. Brayden Narveson has missed four of 13 field-goal attempts this year for the Packers, including the league’s only sub-40 yard miss through four weeks. The Packers may be ready to make a change.

Per ESPN’s Field Yates, the Lions also worked out Lucas Havrisik, Matthew McCrane and Andre Szmyt following Michael Badgley’s season-ending injury. Ammendola (67.0 percent) and Havrisik (75.0 percent) are coming off shaky field-goal conversion rates in 2023. McCrane (80.0 percent) and Szmyt (87.0 percent) fared better in their recent UFL stints, though none of the four inspire confidence. The Lions’ fantasy-friendly kicker role may underwhelm in 2024.

Havrisik had a brief stint with the Browns last season but never attempted a field goal for them. The third-year kicker did, however, make nine appearances for the Rams last season, converting on 15-of-20 field goals, with four of them coming from 40-plus yards out. He’ll presumably get a chance to compete with Dustin Hopkins and Cade York for the Browns’ starting kicker role this season. Last season, Hopkins converted on 33-of-36 of his field goal attempts.

With two missed PATs in Week 17’s win over the Giants and a 75 percent field goal percentage, Havrisik was looking like a long shot to be on the Rams’ roster come playoff time. The team attempted to replace him earlier this season, singing veteran Mason Crosby, but Crosby was quickly signed to the Giants’ 53-man roster amidst their kicking woes, giving Havrisik a few more weeks to stick around. The Rams will likely hold kicker tryouts later this week as they look for a little more consistency at the position before the playoffs begin.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Crosby is preparing to play in Sunday’s game against the Ravens. The veteran kicker was signed to the Rams’ practice squad earlier this week after Lucas Havrisik missed two field goals and an extra point in the team’s last two games. As long as he’s nailing kicks, Crosby should have a chance to win the starting kicker job for the Rams for the remainder of the season. He converted on 25-of-29 field goals with the Packers last season, with three of his misses coming on attempts from 50-plus yards.

It appears the playoff-hunting Rams are done with Lucas Havrisik, who has missed two field goals and an extra point over LA’s past two games. Crosby has been vocal about returning to the NFL after the Packers parted ways with him last offseason in favor of Anders Carlson. Crosby, per Garafolo, is expected to be moved to the Rams’ active roster. Crosby should be fantasy relevant on a Rams team that leads that NFL in field goal tries (33).

The longtime Packers kicker could compete with Lucas Havrisik, who signed with the Rams on Tuesday after the team released the struggling Brett Maher. Crosby, 39, made 25-of-29 field goals and 37-of-39 extra points with Green Bay in 2022. Whoever kicks for LA should be fantasy relevant. No team has more field goal tries than the Rams through Week 7.

Havrisik was on the Browns practice squad. He’ll replace Brett Maher, who was released Tuesday morning after missing two field goals and an extra point in LA’s Week 7 loss to the Steelers. Thanks to red zone struggles, the Rams lead the NFL this season with 23 field goal tries. Havrisik could become an every-week fantasy starter.
