Cowboys completed an interview with Seahawks assistant coach Leslie Frazier for their head coaching vacancy.
The Cowboys have now done three interviews: Kellen Moore, Robert Saleh, and Frazier. They are Rooney Rule compliant. Frazier got an interview for the Chargers head-coaching gig in 2024 and with the Giants in 2022. He’s been somewhat pushed off the radar in recent years after leaving Sean McDermott’s Bills staff, but latched on with the Seahawks as an assistant head coach. Given how wacky the Cowboys head-coaching search has been, anybody can legitimately be called a real candidate for the job, but all insider direction seems to point to Kellen Moore as the favorite.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Seahawks assistant HC Leslie Frazier will interview with the Cowboys on Monday for their head coaching vacancy.
The Cowboys are late to the head coaching cycle after waiting over a week to announce that Mike McCarthy would not return to the team. Frazier served as the Vikings’ head coach from 2011-2013 but has bounced around the league since 2014 while serving in a number of capacities. His longest stint was with the Bills (2017-2022), where he served as their defensive coordinator before adding assistant head coach to his job description in 2020. A well-renowned defensive mind, Frazier is one of several candidates who are expected to speak with the Cowboys in the coming days as they begin to build out their coaching search.
Sanders has 'gravitas' to handle Cowboys, Jones
RFS reacts to rumors connecting Colorado's Deion Sanders to the Cowboys' head coach vacancy, explaining why he could be a strong fit in Dallas before debating if his theatrics would become too big of a distraction.

Cowboys requested to interview Seahawks assistant HC Leslie Frazier for their head coaching vacancy.
Frazier is a long-tenured coach in the NFL. His last stint as an NFL head coach was with the Vikings from 2011-2013, which included a 2012 playoff appearance. Since then, he has been a defensive coordinator for the Buccaneers and Bills, and a secondary coach for the Ravens. He joined the Seahawks as an assistant head coach to another defensive mind, Mike Macdonald, for 2024. Frazier is back on the head coaching radar as the Cowboys begin to expand their search.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Seahawks hired Leslie Frazier as their assistant head coach.
This is a strong hire for first-time head coach Mike Macdonald. Frazier brings years of coaching experience to the table, including three years as a head coach, and has long been a mentor to Macdonald according to Pelissero. Frazier will undoubtedly offer contributions to the defensive side of the ball, as he’s spent more than 20 years serving as a defensive coach for a number of teams. Frazier most recently worked with the Bills as their defensive coordinator from 2020 until 2022 before stepping away in early 2023.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports the Dolphins will interview former Bills DC Leslie Frazier for their defensive coordinator vacancy.
Frazier earned a head coaching interview from the Chargers earlier this month but was one of many candidates who were passed on in exchange for Jim Harbaugh. The former defensive coordinator and head coach (2011-2013) opted to walk away from the Bills last February after spending six seasons with the team. Set to turn 65 in April, Frazier first entered the NFL coaching ranks in 1999. During his time with the Bills, he helped lead three top-five defensive units and is among the most respected coaches in the league.

Chargers will interview former Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier for the team’s head coaching vacancy.
Frazier, 64, took the 2023 season off with plans to return to the Bills in 2024. That would obviously change if Frazier lands the Chargers head coaching gig after the team fired Brandon Staley near the end of the regular season. As head coach of the Vikings from 2011 to 2013, Frazier went 18-25-1. In Buffalo, Frazier presided over a solid Bills defense that allowed the NFL’s sixth lowest rush EPA in 2022.

Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier will take the 2023 season off and return to the team in 2024.
Frazier, who will turn 64 in April, will cede coordinating duties to someone else -- presumably a current Bills staffer -- for the coming season. He’s been with the Bills since 2017. It’s a major loss for a Buffalo defense graded by Pro Football Focus as last year’s tenth best coverage unit. Buffalo in 2022 gave up the NFL’s sixth lowest EPA per rush. The Bills struggled to pressure the passer in the wake of Von Miller’s season-ending knee injury -- a deficiency that showed up late in the season and into the postseason.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that the Giants are planning to interview Leslie Frazier for a second time on Friday.
That makes two Bills coordinators that will be getting two interviews for New York’s head job. Mike Garafolo earlier today called Brian Daboll the “leader in the clubhouse,” but it appears under new GM Joe Schoen that the Giants will conduct plenty of due diligence before reaching the final decision. Frazier’s also drawn interest from the Dolphins and Bears this offseason after the Bills finished 2021 with the fewest points allowed.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the Giants are expected to interview Bills OC Brian Daboll on Saturday.
The Giants are also expected to interview Bills DC Leslie Frazier. Joe Schoen, the Giants’ new general manager, is a former Bills executive and is still in Buffalo. So the move makes sense logistically and because of Schoen’s connection to both Daboll and Frazier. Daboll’s work in developing Josh Allen has been one of the most impressive offensive transformations in recent years, and his hiring would provide a last gasp of hope for Daniel Jones believers. If anyone can salvage Jones, it’s Daboll. Daboll would also be an ideal head coach to develop the Giants’ next franchise quarterback after fixing Daniel Jones doesn’t work.

MMQB’s Albert Breer reports the Dolphins have requested to interview Bills DC Leslie Frazier for their head-coaching vacancy.
Frazier, 62, will also speak with the Bears regarding their head-coaching gig. Along with Frazier, the Dolphins also want interviews with Bills OC Brian Daboll, Cowboys OC Kellen Moore, and Cardinals DC Vance Joseph. Frazier wouldn’t be a very inspiring hire, especially considering he’d likely be a downgrade on fired coach Brian Flores.
