Former Georgia senior DB Latavious Brini will transfer to Arkansas.
Brini (6'2"/210) had a breakout season as he became a starter for the historically impressive Georgia defense for the first time. Never playing more than 90 snaps in the previous three seasons, he was able to finish second on the team with eight passes defended and had an interception he returned for a touchdown. The Hogs will get a veteran presence to replace Joe Foucha who transferred to LSU after the end of the season.

  • Georgia senior DB Latavious Brini has entered the transfer portal.
Brini (6'2/210) was a key contributor for the Bulldogs in 2021 on their way to a national championship, as he started 11 games at cornerback for the Dogs while racking up 32 tackles and six pass breakups on a career-high 515 snaps per Pro Football Focus. Brini had never played more than 89 snaps in any season since arriving to Georgia in 2018, but emerged as a full-time starter in 2021. Now, with one year of eligibility remaining, Brini will look to continue his career elsewhere in 2022.

  • Georgia redshirt sophomore DB Latavious Brini was arrested and charged with one count of simple battery on Thursday.
No details have surfaced as of yet as to the specifics of Brini’s arrest. The simple battery charge is a misdemeanor. Per a statement from UGA HC Kirby Smart, discipline will be handled internally in this case. The former four-star prospect appeared in five games last season, but registered just one tackle in that short space.
  • Four-star 2017 CB Latavious Brini committed to Georgia.
“I was really feeling Georgia, and I just wanted to get it over with. I just came to the decision today,” Brini said. He is bumping his commitment up by a few weeks after initially planning on a July 31st pledge. The Bulldogs are offering the 6-foot-2, 184-pounder a chance to compete immediately. “They said I have a great chance of playing right away,” Brini explained, “and they see me only as a cornerback.” Scout.com notes that he “knows how to make a play on the ball” and calls him a “solid tackler for a long corner.” He ranks as the outlet’s No. 260 overall prospect.
  • Georgia four-star 2017 verbal CB commit Latavious Brini reopened his recruitment.
Brini had been committed to Georgia since early July, but a recent visit to Miami may have swayed him off the Bulldogs’ cause. Per 247Sports’ Kipp Adams, the 6-foot-2, 184-pound corner will be visiting the Hurricanes again this weekend, assuming the actual hurricane bearing down on the continental United States does not throw a watery wrench into that plan. With Brini apparently no longer viewing Georgia as an option, Kirby Smart’s crew is down to just one corner commitment for 2017 -- Mr. William Poole III.
  • Georgia signed four-star 2017 CB Latavious Brini.
The 6-foot-2, 184-pound Brini is the nation’s No. 39 cornerback. Brini decommitted from Georgia in October, but he ultimately decided to become a Bulldog over offers from FIU, Miami, USF, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech. Scout.com notes that he “knows how to make a play on the ball” and calls him a “solid tackler for a long corner.”
