They have been talking about making this move for a while. Thompson will take Lance Schulters job and provide Tennessee some needed stability in the secondary. How well he’ll play as a starter is still a question mark.

Griffin reportedly struggled in man coverage during OTAs. He was a free safety in college, and could be moved back to that position. We’d guess he’s the favorite to start opposite Chris Hope.

The team is looking for a replacement on special teams for Lowry, and is giving rookie tailback Chris Henry a shot there. Strong safety Chris Hope remains the best bet for consistent IDP value in Tennessee’s secondary.
