Cardinals DE L.J. Collier returned in Week 9 against the Bears after exiting with a leg injury.
Collier was seen speedily hopping off of the field on one leg, valiantly doing his part to keep Jonathan Gannon from having to use a timeout. Collier immediately began working with the training staff as soon as he got to the sideline. Collier later returned and appears to be okay.
  • ARI Defensive Lineman #91
Cardinals re-signed EDGE LJ Collier to a one-year contract.
The former first-round pick spent four years in Seattle before joining the Cardinals on a one-year deal last offseason. Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Collier had a strong showing in camp. He didn’t get to carry that momentum into the season as a bicep injury ended his campaign in Week 1. Collier was a first-round bust with the Seahawks, but another one-year contract in Arizona will give him a shot at proving his worth in a starting role this year.

Cardinals signed EDGE L.J. Collier, formerly of the Seahawks, to a one-year contract.
Collier recorded just three sacks in 45 games with the Seahawks after being selected 29th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. That level of production probably undersells his overall talent level, but he’s more of a depth pickup for the Cardinals than someone who will be counted on to start in 2023.

Seahawks activated EDGE L.J. Collier (elbow) from injured reserve.
Collier was at the end of his 21-day window to be officially activated. He went on injured reserve ahead of the season and was supposed to be returning to the field as early as Week 5. Given the extra time off, he should have no issues taking the field this week. A former first-round pick, Collier has just three sacks in 37 games. He will play a minor role for Seattle’s defense.

Seahawks EDGE L.J. Collier (elbow) could return for Week 5.
Collier was placed on injured reserve ahead of the season, and has been designated to return to practice this week. Head coach Pete Carrol said Collier’s return in Week 5 is “realistic” and noted that the defensive end is in good shape after his extended absence. The Seahawks declined Collier’s fifth-year option for the 2023 season earlier this year, and will likely move on from him at the end of this season. Through 37 games, Collier has managed just three sacks after the Seahawks made him the 29th overall pick of the 2019 draft.

Seahawks placed EDGE L.J. Collier on injured reserve with an elbow injury.
It basically buys the Seahawks time with a player who is no longer in their long-term plans. Collier’s 53-man roster spot had been in danger after Seattle declined his fifth-year team option for 2023. If the ‘Hawks decide to make him one of their eight “return” players, he will be first eligible to suit up in Week 5.

  • ARI Defensive End #91
    Seahawks declined EDGE L.J. Collier’s fifth-year option for 2023.
The 29th overall pick in the 2019 draft, Collier has been a certifiable bust, notching just three sacks across 37 appearances for the Seahawks. He was a healthy inactive on game days at times last season. Collier will be a free agent next offseason.

  • ARI Defensive End #91
Seahawks declared DL L.J. Collier, DB Marquise Blair, TE Tyler Mabry, OL Stone Forsythe and Ol Dakoda Shepley inactive for Week 8 against the Jaguars.
Collier started all 16 games for the Seahawks last year and earned three sacks. He has only been active for two games this year. The former first-round pick has been completed removed from the team’s defensive game-plan.

Seahawks first-round DE L.J. Collier (ankle) has been cleared to practice.
Collier has missed the last month with a high-ankle sprain. Returning to practice is a good step, but he looks doubtful for Week 1. Even if he plays, Collier’s snaps would likely be limited.
  • ARI Defensive End #91
Seahawks first-round DE L.J. Collier (ankle) will “ramp up” his workouts next week.
It’s a step in the right direction for Collier, who’s been sidelined since late July. Collier is dealing with a high-grade sprain and remains questionable for Week 1. Given his missed camp time, Collier’s early season snaps figure to be limited.
