Bengals signed S Kyries Hebert to a two-year contract.
For what it’s worth, Hebert was one of the most feared hitters at safety and on special teams in the CFL. He played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2007.
  • CIN Defensive Back
Bengals SS Dexter Jackson (thumb) is not expected to play in Week 2.
He missed practice all week. The Bengals will use a rotation of Chinedum Ndukwe and Kyries Hebert at strong safety vs. Tennessee. Jackson isn’t a difference maker so it doesn’t help Alge Crumpler or any Titans skill players.
  • FA Quarterback #5
Bengals re-signed exclusive rights free agent QB Jordan Palmer, S Kyries Hebert, OT Dennis Roland, and OG Nate Livings to one-year contracts.
Livings, 28, is the lone first-team player here. He’s made 15 starts over the past two seasons, performing admirably. Roland is a tight end in the Bengals’ jumbo package and a solid backup right tackle. He’ll be supplanted by Andre Smith this year. Hebert is a gunner. Palmer is Carson’s little brother.
  • FA Center #64
Bengals tendered exclusive rights offers to C Kyle Cook, OG Nate Livings, OT Dennis Roland, QB Jordan Palmer, and S Kyries Hebert.
Cook was a solid run blocker in his first season as the starter while Livings lost the left guard job to Evan Mathis. Roland will stick around as a backup tackle, and Palmer is likely to remain the No. 3 quarterback.
  • CIN Defensive Lineman
Bengals waived DT Orien Harris, S Kyries Hebert, TE Darius Hill and RB James Johnson.
Harris fails to stick as a rotational lineman, while Johnson doesn’t even get a chance with Brian Leonard sidelined.
