Bengals signed P Danny Baugher to a two-year contract.
Baugher was out of football in 2007 after being cut by the Patriots. This is his second stint with the Bengals - he signed with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2006, but was cut after camp. Kyle Larson, the Bengals’ punter since 2004, will become an unrestricted free agent on February 29.

    Bengals released P Kyle Larson.
The Bengals’ 2009 punter will be rookie Kevin Huber. They gave Larson, 29, an extension last offseason, but he only posted a 34.1 net average on a league-high 100 punts, ranking 33 among punters with 20 or more attempts.

Browns worked out free agent punters Kyle Larson and Ryan Plackemeier on Friday.
The Browns worked out the two former Bengals after practice on Friday because P Dave Zastudil has been limited with a right knee injury.

    Bengals re-signed P Kyle Larson to a five-year contract.
Larson fell from fifth-best to sixth-worst in net yards last season, but had 21 kicks land inside the 20 yard line with just three falling for touchbacks. He’s been a solid punter for the Bengals, as well as an effective holder for Shayne Graham’s kicks.

Bengals signed P Kyle Larson to a one-year contract.
He’s played every game for the Bengals since signing in 2004, with average results.
  • Bengals claimed P Ryan Plackemeier off waivers from the Redskins.
Now they have two of the worst punters in the league. Kyle Larson couldn’t manage 40.0 yards per punt last season, and Plackemeier hasn’t been good since his 2006 rookie year.

The Bengals made tender offers to six restricted free agents Wednesday: LB Landon Johnson, G Stacy Andrews, CB Greg Brooks, LB Caleb Miller, P Kyle Larson and DT Shaun Smith.
Andrews and Larson both got “second round tenders.” The other four players got the lowest tender, which means another team would have to fork over a draft pick matching the round in which the player was originally chosen to sign them. While all six players should return to Cincy, there’s an outside chance that a team would give up a third-round pick to sign Landon Johnson.

    Bengals re-signed P Kyle Larson to a one-year, $1.3 million contract.
Larson ranked fifth in the NFL in net punting with a 38.6 yards-per-punt average last year. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
