Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller compared Syracuse T Koda Martin to Buffalo Bills T Conor McDermott.
“He’s a good athlete but lacks much of the necessary power in his game to compete against NFL talent routinely and has technical deficiencies in his footwork,” Miller writes of the 6-foot-6, 300-pound Martin. The analyst views Martin as a potential fit for zone work with a few years of practice squad development under his belt.

Draft Analyst’s Tony Pauline notes that Syracuse redshirt senior T Koda Martin met with the Saints, Dolphins and Jaguars at his Pro Day on Tuesday.
Pauline says that Martin (6'6/300) had a “solid” day, doing 24 reps on the bench press and touched 27 inches on the vertical jump and 8-foot-1 in the broad jump. He also ran his 40-yard dash in 5.10 seconds and he had a solid three-cone time in the 7.5 second range, according to Pauline. He currently projects as a late-round pick, but this Pro Day should help Martin’s stock.

Texas A&M redshirt senior T Koda Martin was hospitalized on Monday after an apparent case of heat stroke.
Scary situation, here. According to Kirk Martin, Koda’s father, the 6-foot-6, 311-pound redshirt senior’s temperature spiked to 106 degrees as he was being tended to by trainer’s during Monday’s practice. The quick action of the training staff -- Martin was placed in an ice tub to try to lower the core temperature and an ambulance was called -- may well have prevented this from turning into a true tragedy. Explained Kirk Martin, "[The trainers] likely saved his life. His organs had begun to shut down. His vitals weren’t good.” After being treated in the ICU for several days this week, Martin was released from the hospital. He was a 10-game starter for the 2017 season.

Texas A&M redshirt senior T Koda Martin transferred to Syracuse as a graduate.
Martin (6'6/311) will be joining his father, Kirk Martin, at Syracuse. The elder Martin serves as quarterbacks coach with the program. Consider this a strong get for the Orange, as they’re gaining a tackle who started 10 games in the SEC last season. This isn’t the first time that Martin has been in the news this spring -- he was hospitalized and treated for heat stroke at the beginning of the month, while taking part in spring practice with the Aggies.
