    Dolpins signed CB Kiawaukee Thomas.
The special teams ace was dropped by Jacksonville last weekend.
  • DET Defensive Back
Cornerback Kiwaukee Thomas is the early favorite to replace Nate Clements in the Bills’ secondary.
Thomas was mostly a special teamer before emerging as a nickel back in Perry Fewell’s defense last year. Ashton Youboty is also in the competition.
  • NE Defensive Back
Bills placed CB Jason Webster on injured reserve with a fractured forearm, ending his season.
At least on paper, there’s not a worse secondary in the league than Buffalo’s. The Bills will now turn to untested Ashton Youboty, who has an interesting skill set but was beat out by Webster, one of the weaker cornerbacks in the NFL, during training camp. Kiwaukee Thomas should remain the nickel.
  • NE Defensive Back
Former Falcon Jason Webster is the current favorite to serve as Buffalo’s starting right cornerback this season.
Webster was reportedly the most impressive of a competition that includes Jabari Greer, Ashton Youboty, and Kiwaukee Thomas during minicamps. The Bills would probably prefer Youboty to win the position in the preseason.
  • DET Defensive Back
Bills placed CB Kiwaukee Thomas on injured reserve with a “severe groin injury,” ending his season.
The groin was probably torn. The Bills have now lost a starting corner, their starting nickel back (Thomas), and starting free safety since the opener. It’s amazing that coordinator Perry Fewell has kept the unit competitive.
  • DET Defensive Back
Bills CB Kiwaukee Thomas suffered a potentially serious groin injury Sunday.
Thomas is a key part of Buffalo’s nickel defense, so his loss could hurt. The Bills would likely insert Ashton Youboty there if Thomas is out long.
  • DET Defensive Back
Lions signed free agent DB Kiwaukee Thomas.
Thomas replaces the injured Stanley Wilson on the roster. He was released by the Bills early this offseason after tearing his groin late in the season.
  • DET Running Back
Lions released RB Artose Pinner, WR John Standeford, WR Kenneth Moore, CB Kiwaukee Thomas, T Jonathan Scott, LB Leon Joe, and DE Rudy Hardie.
Pinner wasn’t bad in the preseason, but 30-year-old journeymen running backs don’t get the benefit of the doubt. Moore may go on the practice squad.
  • DET Defensive Back
    Bills released CB Kiwaukee Thomas.
Thomas was a solid nickel back in 2006, but tore his groin last year and was made expendable with Jabari Greer’s emergence. He likely failed a physical.
