Kenyan Drake retired after eight seasons in the NFL.
Drake made the announcement via a photo collage Instagram post, saying “he wouldn’t change a thing” about his time in the NFL. He finishes his career with 5,521 yards from scrimmage and 41 total touchdowns.

The Packers released Kenyan Drake from their practice squad.
The Packers signed Drake to their practice squad just over a month ago. He appeared in one game for them, logging a lone carry for zero yards. Drake also spent time with the Browns and Ravens this year. He will enter his age-30 season looking for a one-year deal as a backup in the offseason.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Packers have signed Kenyan Drake to their practice squad.
No word yet on what this means for Aaron Jones’ status, but for now it looks like a depth signing. Drake last played with Ravens until he was released in October of this season. If Aaron Jones misses another game, don’t be shocked to see Drake working behind AJ Dillon.

    Ravens released RB Kenyan Drake.
Drake never figured to be long for the Ravens after the team signed him in late-September following multiple injuries to their running back room. The veteran running back appeared in two games for the Ravens this season, turning four opportunities into 31 yards — all coming in the same game. At 29 years old, Drake’s best days are almost certainly behind him, but he could still pop up on another roster or return to the Ravens should a need arise.

Ravens RB Justice Hill (toe) was not at practice on Wednesday.
Hill missed practice all last week and was unable to play on Sunday as well. His running mate, Gus Edwards, was able to return to practice on Wednesday after suffering a concussion scare, so it looks like Edwards could be the clear lead back on Sunday against the Browns with Melvin Gordon and Kenyan Drake mixing in behind him.
  • BAL Running Back #35
Ravens RB Gus Edwards returned to practice on Wednesday after being evaluated for a concussion on Sunday.
Edwards left the game late in the fourth quarter and was being evaluated for a concussion. The fact that he’s able to practice on Wednesday is a pretty good indication that he didn’t suffer one. With Edwards looking likely to return against the Browns, Melvin Gordon and Kenyan Drake will return to clear back-up roles.

Kenyan Drake rushed one time for no yards in the Ravens’ Week 3 loss to the Colts, adding two receptions for 31 yards.
Drake’s best play of the day would have been a 24-yard reception, but he had the football punched out of his hands and the end of the run. The Colts recovered the costly fumble. Melvin Gordon earned 10 carries with Gus Edwards leaving this game early, cementing him as the RB3 over Drake.
  • BAL Running Back #43
Ravens RB Justice Hill (toe) has been ruled out for Week 3 against the Colts.
Hill was absent from all three practices this week, and the Ravens signed Kenyan Drake on Wednesday, signaling that Hill was unlikely to play on Sunday. Hill’s absence will make the Ravens backfield a weird one to rely on for fantasy purposes. Melvin Gordon was active in Week 2 but didn’t receive a touch, and Drake only recently joined the team but spent the preseason with the Colts. Gus Edwards feels like the only running back on this team to trust in Week 3, and will be a touchdown dependent RB2/RB3.

Justice Hill (foot) did not practice on Thursday.
Hill is dealing with a turf toe injury that could sideline him for Week 3 against the Colts. His injury is likely what led the team to sign Kenyan Drake, who could be in line for backup duties behind Gus Edwards if Hill is unable to go. Edwards would have the most to gain if Hill sits, while Drake and Melvin Gordon could sprinkle in on a much lighter note.

Ravens signed RB Kenyan Drake to the team’s practice squad.
Drake, released by the Colts in August, will return to Baltimore after seeing 109 carries and scoring four touchdowns for the Ravens in spot duty last season. Drake will likely play behind Justice Hill and Gus Edwards, but could see playing time if Hill or Edwards get banged up.
