Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Kendall Fuller (knee) is “week to week” and unlikely to play in Week 17 against the Browns.
Fuller left in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the 49ers and did not return. The ninth-year pro also missed a big chunk of the middle of the season with a concussion. While not as effective as he was with the Commanders the last three years, Fuller has been a positive for the Dolphins, with a 62.4 PFF coverage grade and good run defense marks.
  • MIA Quarterback #18
Dolphins declared QB Tyler Huntley, LB Anthony Walker, CB Ethan Bonner, CB Kendall Fuller, TE Jack Stoll and WR Dee Eskridge inactive for Week 13 against the Packers.
Huntley was activated off injured reserve Thursday, but he’ll be the emergency quarterback for Thursday’s bout against Green Bay. Skylar Thompson will be the backup for Tua Tagovailoa versus the Packers instead.
  • MIA Defensive Back #5
Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey (knees) was limited in Tuesday’s walk-through.
Ramsey has been listed as limited for back-to-back days on the Dolphins injury report with “knees” injuries. He has suffered his fair share of knee issues since entering the NFL and it seems he is managing issues to both knees this week. With a limited designation, expect Ramsey to play Thanksgiving against the Packers, barring any setbacks. Meanwhile, CB Kendall Fuller (concussion) was listed as DNP and is likely to miss Week 13.
  • MIA Defensive Back #29
Dolphins declared RB Jeff Wilson, Jr., CB Ethan Bonner, CB Kendall Fuller, LB Mohamed Kamara, OL Andrew Meyer, TE Jack Stoll, and WR Dee Eskridge inactive for Week 12 against the Patriots.
There are no major surprises here as Fuller could not make it back from a concussion he suffered in Week 10. 2023 second-round pick Cam Smith should see more snaps in his absence. The big names for Miami are the ones that are not here as both Alec Ingold and Terron Armstead will be active, which should be a big boost for De’von Achane and the running game.
  • MIA Defensive Back #29
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said CB Kendall Fuller (concussion) will not play this week.
Fuller was concussed in the win over the Rams on Monday night. McDaniel did not have a timeline for his return. Week 12 would appear to be his earliest possible return date, but a more serious concussion could have him out longer and McDaniel referenced that he was “concerned about [Fuller’s] well being” which sounds a little bit ominous.
  • MIA Tackle #72
Dolphins ruled out LT Terron Armstead (concussion) for Week 4 against the Dolphins.
Armstead was unable to clear concussion protocol in time for Monday’s game and will be held out as a result. The veteran tackle has played in each of the Dolphins’ first three games but will likely be replaced by Kendall Lamm, who played on 41 snaps last week after Armstead exited with his injury. In addition to Armstead, the Dolphins also ruled out cornerback Kendall Fuller (concussion).
  • MIA Tackle #72
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said OT Terron Armstead (concussion) is still in protocol ahead of Week 4’s game against the Titans.
No stranger to dealing with injuries over the last couple seasons, Armstead’s brain injury-forced absence would be a big deal for a Dolphins team that is struggling to move the ball. The last thing Tim Boyle needs is pressure. Armstead’s practice status will be worth monitoring ahead of Monday Night. Corner Kendall Fuller is also in concussion protocol for the Dolphins.
  • MIA Cornerback #29
Dolphins agreed to terms with CB Kendall Fuller, formerly of the Commanders, on a two-year, $16.5 million contract.
Fuller, 29, has spent the last four years of his career in Washington and started all 15 games he appeared in for the Commanders last season. Fuller totaled 79 tackles, two interceptions, and nine pass breakups last season and was one of the few bright spots on a defense that allowed the most points, passing yards, and touchdowns last season. Fuller earned a PFF coverage grade of 82.8, which ranked as the ninth-highest grade amongst cornerbacks with at least 200 coverage snaps.
  • WAS Defensive Tackle #93
Commanders DT Jonathan Allen (knee) won’t play in Week 18 against the Cowboys.
Allen’s season will end with 53 tackles and 5.5 sacks in what was arguably the most disappointing season for Washington’s defense in franchise history. With one game to go, the Commanders have currently allowed the 13th-most points (480) in NFL history and could be propelled into the top five after Week 18’s contest against the Cowboys. Allen is under contract through 2025 but has hinted at being open to trade this offseason to avoid being stuck in a rebuilding year in 2024. We’re a long way from knowing where Allen will play next season, but his 2023 campaign with the Commanders has officially come to an end. In addition to Allen, the Commanders also ruled out cornerbacks Tariq Castro-Fields (shoulder), Kendall Fuller (knee), and Christian Holmes (concussion), leaving a porous secondary thin heading into Sunday.
  • WAS Cornerback #29
Commanders CB Kendall Fuller (knee) was removed from the injury report Friday.
Fuller is without question the top member of an underperforming secondary in Washington and his absence would have likely brought 2023 first-round rookie Emmanuel Forbes back into the starting roster after the latter was benched in Week 6. It goes without saying, but Fuller’s presence in the lineup is a positive development for the Commanders against their division rivals on Sunday.
