    Saints waived QB Kellen Mond.
The Saints also waived offensive lineman Tommy Kraemer. Mond was signed by the Saints in April. After drafting Spencer Rattler in the fifth round, New Orleans no longer had a need for Mond. He landed on the Colts’ practice squad last year and will likely be stuck on another practice squad for the 2024 season.
  • IND Quarterback #8
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Colts are signing QB Kellen Mond to the practice squad.
Mond’s signing comes after QB Anthony Richardson hurt his shoulder in a Week 5 game against the Titans. If Richardson misses multiple weeks, Mond could see a couple of practice squad call-ups to back-up Gardner Minshew. Mond spent the preseason with the Browns before being released on cut-down day.

Free agent QB Kellen Mond will not be joining the Browns practice squad.
After previous reports of Mond signing with the Browns’ practice squad, the team opted to go in a different direction, signing veteran P.J. Walker. Monday is now expected to remain a free agent and is free to sign with any team.
  • CLE Quarterback #8
Browns signed QB Kellen Mond to the team’s practice squad.
Released by the team on Tuesday, Mond returns for practice squad duties after throwing for 390 yards, three scores, and two picks this preseason. A former third-round pick by the Vikings, Mond would probably get called up if the Browns lose one of their top two quarterbacks.

    Browns waived QB Kellen Mond.
After initially being waived by the Browns last week, the team opted to retain Mond through the final preseason game after trading away Joshua Dobbs. Mond completed 42-of-74 passes for 390 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions this preseason. The former third-round pick has struggled to secure a key spot on a roster since being drafted by the Vikings in 2021. Once thought to be Kirk Cousins’ replacement, Mond will now hope to catch on with a team in any capacity following his release.
  • FA Running Back #25
    Browns waived RB Demetric Felton.
Felton’s days felt numbered after the Browns went out and traded for Pierre Strong last week. Felton was a game-day inactive in a handful of games last season and entered training camp already on the roster bubble. In addition to Felton, the Browns also released/waived CB Lorenzo Burns, WR Jaelon Darden, RB Hassan Hall, WR Mike Harley Jr., DE Sam Kamara, DE Jeremiah Martin, S Tanner McAlister, TE Zaire Mitchell-Paden, QB Kellen Mond, DE Lonnie Phelps, LB Charlie Thomas III, DE Isaiah Thomas, DT Tommy Togiai, WR Austin Watkins, K Cade York, G Michael Dunn, DT Trysten Hill, DT Maurice Hurst II, RB John Kelly Jr.

Browns traded QB Joshua Dobbs and a 2024 seventh-round pick to the Cardinals for a 2024 fifth-round pick.
The Cardinals have now made three trades in less than 12 hours. Dobbs, who was announced as the Browns’ QB2 by Kevin Stefanski just hours before the trade, will now head to the Cardinals to compete for a starting job with Colt McCoy and Clayton Tune with less than three weeks to go until their Week 1 matchup against the Commanders. Dobbs played under Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing during his first stint in Cleveland and could benefit from that familiarity. Regardless of who wins the starting job for the Cardinals, they’ll only be worth a fantasy spot for the most desperate of teams — which is putting it nicely. In other news, Browns rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson looks like the new backup to Deshaun Watson, and Kellen Mond, who was waived earlier in the day, has been removed from waivers and will remain with the Browns.

    Browns waived QB Kellen Mond.
Mond appeared in three preseason games for the Browns, completing 32-of-55 passes for 297 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. The former third-round pick was waived by the Vikings last season and has spent the last year with the Browns. The recent emergence of rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson and the signing of Joshua Dobbs created a rather crowded quarterbacks room for the Browns, putting Mond in a difficult position to make the 53-man roster.

Browns claimed QB Kellen Mond off waivers from the Vikings.
Mond was a holdover from the Rick Spielman regime in Minnesota. Like many of the recent draft flops from the end of Spielman’s reign, Mond was waived when the Vikings cut down to their 53-man roster. With Deshaun Watson’s suspension underway, the Browns only have Jacoby Brissett and Joshua Dobbs on their active roster. Mond gives them a second option to serve as Brissett’s backup until Watson returns. It’s possible that Dobbs is left off the gameday roster once Mond gets up to speed in Cleveland’s offense.

  • FA Quarterback #8
    Vikings waived QB Kellen Mond.
The 66th overall pick at the top of the third round last year, Mond attempted three passes as a rookie and was then horrible this preseason. Mond completed just 29-of-51 passes this summer, averaging a pitiful 5.9 YPA with a 2:2 TD:INT mark. The new Vikings regime had no ties to the Mond pick last year, making it an easy decision to part ways.
