Texans signed WR Kearis Jackson to a reserve-future deal.
The 25-year-old Jackson now gets a chance to earn a roster spot while Stefon Diggs recovers from a torn ACL and Tank Dell potentially misses the full season rehabbing his complex knee injury. The Texans also signed OG Jerome Carvin to a reserve-future deal.

Titans signed Georgia WR Kearis Jackson.
Jackson (5’11/196) never totaled more than 514 yards and three touchdowns in any of his five seasons at Georgia. A career slot receiver, Jackson will likely play a similar role at the NFL level due in part to his size and lack of explosiveness. Jackson has just three career drops to his name on 121 targets but has struggled at times when hauling in contested targets. He averaged just 5.3 YAC/REC and forced six missed tackles in his career as a receiver. While his playmaking ability after the catch leaves a lot to be desired, his 77 combined kick and punt returns should give him multiple roster spots to battle for in camp.

Georgia junior WR Kearis Jackson appears set to return to school in 2022.
Jackson (6'0/200) posted a tweet on Tuesday with a graphic that simply said, “Let’s run it back.” If this is any indicator, it would appear that Jackson is ready to return to Georgia in 2022. Jackson had a down 2021 season after a 2020 year in which he posted a receiving line of 36-514-3. This past season, Jackson caught just 16 passes for 194 yards and one touchdown on 22 targets. Jackson played in 13 games for the Bulldogs in 2021, but was working his way back from a knee injury that required a handful of surgeries in the offseason. Hopefully a healthy offseason in 2022 will lead to a rebound for Jackson next season.

Georgia junior WR Kearis Jackson (ribs) will be a game-time decision for Saturday’s SEC championship against Alabama.
Jackson (6'0/200) was knocked out of last week’s contest against Georgia Tech with an injury to the ribs. Smart at the time thought he would be good to go back in, but Jackson said the injury was “pretty painful.” Jackson has practiced this week and was deemed likely to play so he is on the po\sitive side of the game-time decision.

Georgia junior WR Kearis Jackson (ribs) exited Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech and did not return to the game.
Head coach Kirby Smart said after the game that he thought Jackson (6'0/200) would be able to return to the game, but that Jackson said his injury was “pretty painful” when Smart asked him about it. Smart ultimately decided to keep Jackson out for the remainder of the game, which makes since in a game the Bulldogs ultimately won 45-0. Georgia has a much taller task next weekend in the SEC Championship game against Alabama on Saturday.

  • FA Wide Receiver
Georgia junior WR Kearis Jackson (ribs) has been ruled out for the remainder of Saturday’s game at Georgia Tech.
Jackson (6'0/200) was injured during the first quarter, and has not returned since. With it being announced that the junior wide receiver will not return to Saturday’s game, look for Ladd McConkey to handle the punt return duties for the undefeated Bulldogs.

  • FA Wide Receiver
Georgia junior WR Kearis Jackson will get some playing on offense this Saturday against South Carolina.
Jackson (6'0"/200) has been limited to punt returns this season, but head coach Kirby Smart said he could see some offensive snaps this Saturday. The Bulldogs have been dealing with the injury bug amongst pass-catchers; WR George Pickens (Knee), WR Arian Smith (Toe/calf) are on the injury report this week. Jackson had 514 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 2020. Georgia will host South Carolina this Saturday.

  • Dominick Blaylock
    UGA #8
Georgia sophomore WR Dominick Blaylock (knee) is cleared to play, but head coach Kirby Smart says it’s about “confidence and feel” when Blaylock is ready to see the field.
Blaylock missed the 2020 season with a torn ACL, and also missed the opener against Clemson. He was actually cleared for the Clemson game, but the team and Blaylock didn’t feel he was ready to suit up. His status for this week’s tilt against UAB is up in the air, but Blaylock is ahead of Kearis Jackson in the recovery timetable. Georgia’s offense, which looked anemic against Clemson despite the win, should see three of their top receivers return this season which will give them a major boost.

  • FA Wide Receiver
Georgia redshirt sophomore WR Kearis Jackson (knee) is still working his way back after undergoing a “cleanup” procedure earlier this offseason.
Jackson (6'0/200) underwent the procedure earlier this offseason, and while it didn’t sound to be all that serious when reported, he remains at less than full speed. The redshirt sophomore is being worked back slowly, and it’s understandable that Georgia would exercise caution here. The Bulldogs are already down two wide receivers due to knee injuries (Dominick Blaylock and George Pickens), and Jermaine Burton only recently returned to practice after spraining his ankle on the first day of fall camp. Both Burton and Jackson are expected to be ready to go when Georgia faces Clemson on September 4 in Charlotte.

  • FA Wide Receiver
Georgia redshirt sophomore WR Kearis Jackson (knee) is expected to be ready for the start of fall camp, per HC Kirby Smart.
According to Smart, Jackson (6'0/200) underwent a “cleanup” procedure on his knee this offseason. It didn’t sound to be all that serious, which is good news for the redshirt sophomore wide receiver. With George Pickens likely to miss a significant chunk of the 2021 campaign after suffering a torn ACL, players such as Jackson will be asked to do even more on the outside. Jackson finished last season with a 36-514-3 receiving line, finishing tied for the team lead in receptions with the aforementioned Pickens.
