USC senior LB Kana’i Mauga has declared for the 2022 NFL Draft.
Mauga (6'2/245) started every game this season for USC at middle linebacker, racking up 92 tackles to go with one sack and one interception. A three-year starter for the Trojans, Mauga has racked up over 150 career tackles and three interceptions, but will be an interesting prospect to track leading up to the draft. Per Pro Football Focus’ grading metrics, Mauga struggled with tackling in his final three seasons at USC, with his highest graded year as a tackler coming in his freshman season (2018) when he graded out at a 76.1. In his final three seasons, Mauga received a tackle grade of 49.4 or lower in two of those seasons, and had a career-high 23 missed tackles in 2021.
