  • TB Tackle #77
Bucs re-signed OT Justin Skule to a one-year contract.
Skule appeared in all 17 games for the Bucs last year and saw most of his run on special teams. His last start came in 2020 with the 49ers. He will remain a backup tackle for the Bucs in 2024.

    49ers waived OT Justin Skule.
The team needed the roster spot after signing OL Senio Kelemete to replace Skule, who tore his ACL at Monday’s practice. The latter is still expected to go unclaimed and revert back to San Francisco’s roster, keeping the organization on the hook for his $894,714 cap hit this year.

49ers LT Justin Skule tore his ACL during Monday’s practice.
Skule was the team’s first-string left tackle in Trent Williams’ absence, according to The Athletic’s Matt Barrows. Fifth round pick LT Jaylon Moore is among the candidates to replace Skule, who will probably miss the entire 2021 season. Skule, 24, is signed through the 2022 season.

49ers selected Vanderbilt OT Justin Skule with the No. 183 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Skule was a two-year starter at left tackle for the Commodores after manning right tackle as a sophomore. A limited athlete at 6'6/315, Skule is likely ticketed for the practice squad in year one.

NFL Media analyst Lance Zierlein believes that Vanderbilt T Justin Skule can develop into a swing player on the offensive line.
Skule play both left and right tackle for the Commodores, and he started 40 consecutive games for Vanderbilt. “Top-heavy, high-cut swing tackle prospect who plays with a lack of bend and possesses average physical traits, but finds ways to get guys blocked using technique and football intelligence,” Zierlein writes. He gives Skule a seventh-round/UDFA grade, meaning there’s a chance he is a priority free agent if he doesn’t hear his name called on Saturday.

Vanderbilt senior T Justin Skule accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Game.
Skule has been a constant on the Vanderbilt offensive line, and has played both left and right tackle for the Commodores. He gets quality reviews for his smarts and instincts, but probably doesn’t have the athleticism to be a starter at the position at the next level. Still, that versatility will certainly help his draft stock. There will be plenty of eyes on him in January.

Draft Analyst’s Tony Pauline gave Vanderbilt senior T Justin Skule a sixth-round grade.
Pauline explained that Skule is “another nice-sized lineman who stands out as a run blocker. Skule is not as athletic as his teammate but is a smart position blocker who makes great use of angles to seal opponents from the action.” He has now started 25 consecutive games in his career and moved to left tackle as a junior to protect their quarterback’s blindside. He has been uber consistent throughout his career, starting 98 percent of the team’s offensive snaps last season. With a solid senior season Skule has a good chance to be drafted in 2019.
