Dolphins declared RB Jaylen Wright, CB Juju Brents, S Ashtyn Davis, S Jordan Colbert, DT Zeek Biggers, TE Julian Hill and QB Quinn Ewers inactive for Week 9 against the Ravens.
Wright’s has already been rendered inactive a few times this season, allowing RBs De’Von Achane and Ollie Gordon to split work on game day. Hill is hardly a needle-mover, but his absence further consolidates targets around the Dolphins’ already-busy healthy pass catchers. The defense will have LB Bradley Chubb (shoulder/foot) on hand for this one. He was initially listed as questionable but has now been cleared to play.
  • MIA Tight End #89
Dolphins TE Julian Hill (ankle) will not play in Week 9 against the Ravens.
With Darren Waller on injured reserve and Hill ruled out, Tanner Conner will draw the start for Miami this week. Greg Dulcich will also see some run. Neither player is on the redraft radar, but DFS players can take shots on both tight ends in large tournaments.
  • MIA Tight End #89
Dolphins TE Julian Hill (ankle) did not participate in Tuesday’s practice.
Hill was listed as a non-participant for the second straight day due to an ankle issue. S Ashtyn Davis (quad) also has back-to-back DNPs to start the week. It will be difficult for either player to come back on a short week for a Thursday showdown against the Ravens.
  • MIA Running Back #5
Dolphins declared QB Quinn Ewers, RB Jaylen Wright, CB Ethan Bonner, TE Darren Waller, WR Tahj Washington, and DT Zeek Biggers inactive for Week 1 against the Colts.
Wright will be sidelined for a few weeks with a leg injury that required surgery, and Darren Waller missed the majority of the preseason, so it’s not much of a shock that he’s inactive despite being listed as the starter at tight end. That should open up opportunities for Julian Hill, although not likely enough to put him on the fantasy radar.
  • MIA Tight End #83
Dolphins TE Darren Waller (hip) has been ruled out for Miami’s Week 1 game against the Colts.
Waller wasn’t able to stay healthy before he retired and it doesn’t appear the year off helped much. Julian Hill will draw the start at tight end for the Dolphins in Week 1, which likely means they’ll use a lot of Alec Ingold at fullback and run 20-personnel more often. We’ll see how quickly Waller is able to shake this off, but we have our doubts he’ll be available any time soon.
