Josh Scobee will remain Jacksonville’s kicker this week vs. the Patriots.
Scobee may have saved his job with a 3-for-3 performance last week. Steve Christie is the other kicker on the Jacksonville roster.
  • JAX Kicker (FG) #3
Josh Scobee’s reign as Jaguar kicker may only last one preseason game.
Scobee has this week against the Packers to prove himself. Coach Jack Del Rio intends to wait until other teams make their cuts to see if he needs to bring in competition.
  • JAX Kicker (FG) #3
Josh Scobee has won the Jacksonville starting kicking job.
The rookie rebounded by hitting a 31-yarder and a 51-yarder that was knocked out by a penalty. Jacksonville will keep Steve Christie on speed dial.
  • JAX Kicker (FG) #3
Rookie kicker Josh Scobee remains the favorite for the starting job.
Both he and Jeff Chandler have been underwhelming. If neither player seperates, Scobee will win the job by default. Stay away in fantasy leagues.
  • JAX Kicker (FG) #3
Josh Scobee and Jeff Chandler combined to go 0-for-3 on field goals in last night’s game.
The duo is 1-for-6 in the preseason. Chandler is all but done. Don’t draft the Jags’ kicker.
  • JAX Kicker (FG) #3
Rookie kicker Josh Scobee went 1-3 in his first game as a pro. , a fifth-round pick, was wide left on field-goal attempts of 42 and 24 yards in the first half although he made a 34-yard attempt in the third quarter.
Scobee, the favorite for the starting job, was wide left on field-goal attempts of 42 and 24 yards. He converted a 34-yard attempt and is the favorite for the job over Jeff Chandler, if only because of his status as a fifth-round draft pick.
  • JAX Kicker (FG) #3
The Jaguars aren’t bringing in competition for K Josh Scobee this season.
This will be the first time he has the job locked up before camp. Scobee finished 15th among kickers in points scored this season and could improve along with the Jacksonville offense.
  • JAX Kicker (FG) #3
The Florida Times Union reports that there is a “significant gap” in contract aspirations between the Jaguars and free agent Josh Scobee.
The Jags can franchise tag Scobee if talks fall through, so they have the most leverage. Though both sides agree that staying in Jacksonville is Scobee’s best option, he may be angling to become the NFL’s highest paid kicker.
  • KC Wide Receiver #80
Dwayne Bowe is among the franchise players not expected to participate in offseason workouts, beginning next week.
Drew Brees, Matt Forte, Ray Rice, and Wes Welker are also expected to sit out. According to NFL Network’s Jason LaCanfora, it would take an “unforeseen degree of progress in talks over the weekend” to get any of them signed to long-term deals in time for OTAs. Tyvon Branch and Josh Scobee of the Raiders and Jaguars respectively, have already skipped their new coaches’ workouts begun last week.
  • JAX Running Back #21
Maurice Jones-Drew won’t attend this week’s Jaguars OTAs.
Nor will franchise player K Josh Scobee. Jones-Drew also skipped last month’s voluntary workouts over reported dissatisfaction with his contract, and it’s looking increasingly likely that he may not attend next month’s mandatory minicamp. MJD has two years left on the five-year, $30.95 million deal he signed in 2009. He’ll make $4.45 million this season.
