Nebraska junior DL Jordon Riley made a positive impression on his teammates during the team’s spring practices.
Like many teams across the country Nebraska will not get in a full spring’s work, as the coronavirus has brought collegiate athletics to a halt. But during the few practices that HC Scott Frost’s team did get in, Riley (6'6/290) performed well and has the look of a player who will have an immediate impact in the fall. “Big, physical guy,” senior LB Collin Miller said of Riley. “He’s going to do phenomenal things for us. Moving blockers, making gaps bigger for us. He’s a big boy, and that big boy can run, too. I think he’s going to help us out a lot.” Riley began his career at North Carolina before transferring to Garden City CC in Kansas, where he accounted for 26 total tackles (2.0 for loss, 3.5 sacks). He’ll be asked to contribute early as the Huskers lost three contributors from its defensive line, and early in the spring Riley was playing to the expectations.
