  • WAS Linebacker #58
Commanders HC Dan Quinn said LB Jordan Magee (MCL) will miss some time after undergoing knee surgery.
Quinn didn’t provide a timeline for Magee’s return but said it is not a season-ending injury for the rookie linebacker. The Commanders selected Magee with the No. 129 overall pick in this year’s draft. The former Temple linebacker is expected to serve as added depth behind Bobby Wagner and totaled 80 tackles, 14 TFLs, and 3.5 sacks in his final season with the Owls.
  • WAS Linebacker
Commanders selected Temple LB Jordan Magee with the No. 139 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Through five seasons at Temple, Magee (6'1/228) has quietly built himself an impressive resume. The product of Dover, DE racked up 80 total tackles, 14 TFL’s and 3.5 sacks during the 2023 season. Throughout his collegiate career he split time at WLB and MLB, but based on his size profile, a full time move to WLB could be beneficial. Magee plays the position with an aggressive, trigger-happy mindset. He uses the first crease in the blocking scheme as an opportunity to knife in and make a tackle. In pass defense, Magee improved drastically in his graduate season, lifting his PFF coverage grade from 56.5 to 79.8. He possesses both the straight line speed and lateral quickness needed to line up against tight ends and running backs in man coverage. If he can improve as a tackler and continue his ascent in coverage, he could end up getting a chance to start down the line.
