ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Giants and OG Jon Runyan have agreed to a three-year, $30 million contract.
Few teams needed more offensive line help than the Giants, who ranked dead last in PFF pass blocking and 30th in run blocking. Runyan has started every game he’s played since 2021 and can line up at either guard position, although he’s played almost exclusively at right guard since 2022. The Giants cut ties with veteran guard Mark Glowinski, who was second along the line in offensive snaps (1,169), creating an immediate void on the right side that Runyan can now fill.

Packers selected Michigan G Jon Runyan with the No. 192 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Son of Jon Runyan Sr., a 14-year pro who was once the highest-paid lineman in the NFL, the Wolverines’ left tackle was groomed in the sport and inherited his father’s trademark nastiness in bulldozing oncoming defenders in the run game. His versatility at both left and right tackle in college, as well as the few snaps he took in between at guard, should compensate for his subpar feet, length, and strength at the next level. Overall, Runyan (6'4/306) is an above-average athlete who projects best on the interior line but may be asked to compete at multiple positions in camp.

NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein compares Michigan T Jon Runyan to Colby Gossett.
Runyan, the son of former Pro Bowler Jon Runyan -- was a solid performer for Michigan in his four years at the school, and he also had a solid NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. “He’s inconsistent taking control into initial engagements, but stays after it and recovers back into the second phase of the block,” writes Zierlein. “He plays with high hands that diminish power and control, but that should improve as he slides inside to guard.” Be it as a tackle of as an interior lineman, Runyan likely comes off the board on Day 3.

Michigan T Jon Runyan ran the 40-yard dash in 5.08 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine.
That time is good for 10th best among the offensive lineman who ran in Indianapolis on Friday. The son of former Pro Bowl tackle Jon Runyan was also 10th with his 4.69 second 20-yard shuttle, and he posted the third-best three-cone drill time at 7.57 seconds. Runyan had some questions about his athleticism coming into the event, but this was a solid showing. The 6-foot-4, 306-pound tackle is a likely draft pick on Day 3.

Michigan T Jon Runyan has accepted an invitation to play in the East/West Shrine Bowl.
In 2018 Runyan (6'5/321) started all 13 games at left tackle for Michigan earning All Big Ten first-team honors. The son of former 14-year NFL legend Jon Runyan, he has the kind of NFL lineage teams look for. A slow developer, Runyan only started one game for the Wolverines in his first three years on campus before emerging last season. Though he has made great improvements at left tackle, Runyan was exposed by the more talented defensive ends he faced this year. He is likely a UDFA candidate due to limited athleticism and questions about his ability to add strength.

Michigan redshirt senior T Jon Runyan (undisclosed) is expected to be able to play in Saturday’s game against Wisconsin.
Runyan (6'5/310) sat out Michigan’s first two games, but following the team’s bye week, has been practicing in the leadup to Saturday’s big intra-conference showdown with the Badgers. He’ll start at left tackle against Wisconsin assuming no setbacks. Runyan has NFL intrigue for next spring, though he might have to kick inside for the pro ranks.

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler doesn’t believe Michigan redshirt senior G Jon Runyan would be drafted if the draft were tomorrow.
Runyan (6'5/310) has to improve his stock during his senior season and during the pre-draft process. Only a three-star recruit coming out of high school, Runyan was a surprise first-team All-Big Ten recipient last season at left tackle. Most draft analysts believe Runyan will have to play inside to have a shot in the NFL.

Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller believes Michigan redshirt senior G Jon Runyan could be one of the top seniors in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Runyan (6'5/310) is more under the radar than other top offensive line prospects, but it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have top-75 potential. A former three-star recruit, Runyan has outplayed his ranking at Michigan, earning AP first-team All-Big Ten recognition in 2018. Last season, Runyan was a left tackle, but Miller expects Runyan to slide inside in the NFL.

In his too-early 2020 big board, Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller tagged Michigan redshirt senior G Jon Runyan as the biggest draft-eligible guard sleeper.
Runyan (6'5/310) has the bloodlines if nothing else, as he’s the son of former NFLer Jon Runyan. He initially enrolled at Michigan as a three-star recruit in the 2015 class before working his way up to AP first-team All-Big Ten recognition in 2018, when he started a full 13-game slate at left tackle. Miller believes that his ultimate destiny at the next level will come inside, ranking Runyan as his No. 4 guard prospect for next spring.
