Seahawks signed LB Jon Rhattigan to the active roster.
Rhattigan was elevated from the practice squad each of the last three weeks, leaving the Seahawks with a decision to make heading into this week. A player can’t be elevated from the practice squad to play more than three times, so the Seahawks opted to sign the special teamer to the active roster for the time being. Rhattigan has appeared in 22 games for the Seahawks since joining the team as a UDFA out of Army in 2021.
  • CAR Linebacker #49
Seahawks tendered LB Jon Rhattigan as an exclusive rights free agent.
Rhattigan will stay with Seattle in 2023 for the league minimum. An undrafted rookie out of Army, Rhattigan has been a special teams player for Seattle over the past two seasons, recording 15 tackles in spot defensive duty. He’s appeared in 19 games for the Seahawks since the start of the 2021 season.

  • CLE Center #55
Seahawks placed C Ethan Pocic (knee) on injured reserve.
Pocic left Week 1 with a knee sprain and will now be sidelined for at least three games. Pete Carroll said Pocic will have a chance to return as soon as he is eligible, implying that the injury isn’t severe. The team signed linebacker Jon Rhattigan in a corresponding move.

  • CAR Linebacker #49
Seahawks signed LB Jon Rhattigan from their practice squad.
An undrafted rookie out of Army, Rhattigan played 16 snaps on special teams in Week 1 for the Seahawks. He recorded one tackle. Seattle now has to create a spot on their roster to make room for Rhattigan. RB Rashaad Penny (calf) and OL Ethan Pocic (knee) are candidates to go on injured reserve, or they could make another move to free up a spot.
