Steelers placed FB Dan Kreider (torn ACL) on injured reserve, ending his season, and signed TE Jon Dekker from their practice squad.

Kreider, strictly an old fashioned lead blocker, was rotating with Carey Davis before getting injured in Week 12. He’s a free agent after the season and doesn’t figure to be retained. Dekker played collegiately at Princeton.

It’s a slow news day, to say the least. Dekker, who finished last year on injured reserve, wasn’t tendered an offer as an exclusive rights free agent.

They let go of LB Arnold Harrison, who’s coming off a torn ACL, and backup TE Jon Dekker. Davis and Parquet will be on the roster bubble this summer.
