Coach Dick Vermeil expects wideout Johnnie Morton to miss week one with his Achilles injury.
We’re beginning to wonder if Morton will play for the Chiefs this season. It’s possible he could be placed on injured reserve, on the PUP list, or reach an injury settlement. Marc Boerigter could seriously benefit from Morton’s absence.
  • SF Wide Receiver
Johnnie Morton will “probably” start this week for the Chiefs.
He really looked poor at the end of last season, but Morton still has some fantasy upside in K.C’s big-play offense. He caught three passes in his season debut off the bench.
  • SF Wide Receiver
Chiefs Johnnie Morton is back practicing but probably isn’t ready for a significant role at receiver.
Look for Morton to be in on only about 10 plays Sunday as he still is recovering from his achilles’ tendon injury.
  • SF Wide Receiver
Johnnie Morton missed practice again on Friday and is not expected to face the Broncos.
Derrick Blaylock is also out for the Chiefs.
  • SF Wide Receiver
Johnnie Morton missed his second straight day of practice Thursday.
Check to see if he returns Friday. Dante Hall would start in Morton’s place if necessary Sunday.
  • SF Wide Receiver
Johnnie Morton is a candidate to be released this offseason.
His salary will be $3 million. With Eddie Kennison playing well, Samie Parker emerging, and Marc Boerigter returning, Kansas City may try to get by without Morton and spend the money on defense.
  • SF Wide Receiver
Johnnie Morton’s achilles injury could sideline him all the way to week one.
An achilles injury on a veteran receiver can often last the whole season. Remember Derrick Alexander 3 years ago? Morton was already someone to avoid in fantasy drafts. Now he can be ignored.
  • SF Wide Receiver
Chiefs WR Johnnie Morton could miss up to a week with an Achilles injury.
Morton, Marc Boerigter (shoulder) and Eddie Kennison (wrist) are all MIA in Chiefs camp.
  • SF Wide Receiver
Johnnie Morton’s Achilles’ injury could be more serious than originally thought.
Morton hasn’t practiced in a week, while Mark Boerigter (shoulde) and Eddie Kennison (wrist) are also recovering from their own injuries. Oddly enough, reports on Trent Green say he has looked great in camp, although we’re not sure who besides Tony Gonzalez he’s throwing to.
  • SF Wide Receiver
Johnnie Morton caught five passes for 76 yards in week two.
Considering he didn’t practice at all in training camp, Morton is off to a solid start. With Eddie Kennison injured, Morton should emerge as Trent Green’s best wideout. He’s worth grabbing in deep leagues.
