    Eagles released WR John Ross.
The 28-year-old speed demon “un-retired” in May then suffered an August concussion for his troubles. Ross’ wheels could earn him one final look or two, but the 2017 first-rounder has 13 grabs since 2019.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #83
Eagles WR John Ross suffered a concussion in Thursday’s preseason game against the Patriots.
Ross, who un-retired in May, has a lengthy injury history, but not to his head. This still dents what were already long-shot 53-man roster odds.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #85
    Eagles signed WR John Ross.
Ross announced his retirement last July while with the Chiefs but is now back for a second go at things with the Eagles. The former No. 9 overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft hasn’t played a regular-season snap since 2021 and has dealt with a myriad of injuries dating back to his days in college at Washington. Ross has a career receiving line of 62-957-11 but has totaled just 13 receptions for 241 yards and one touchdown over his last two seasons. He’ll have a chance to make the Eagles as added depth on a roster that’s short on receiver talent behind A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith, but is well off the fantasy radar even if he makes the roster.
  • KC Wide Receiver #85
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports WR John Ross will participate in Eagles rookie camp this week “on a tryout basis.”
Ross retired last season but is now reportedly looking at a comeback. An injury-riddle career limited him to just 37 games over five seasons, and Ross hasn’t taken a regular-season snap since 2021, when he went for 11-224-1 with the Giants. At 28 years old, durability is more of a concern for Ross than age. While it’s possible he does enough to earn an invitation to camp, it’s hard to imagine him making much of an impact even if he does latch on to a roster — in Philly or elsewhere.
  • FA Wide Receiver #85
Chiefs waived WR John Ross from the reserve/retired list.
Ross opted to retire earlier this summer but is now looking to make a comeback according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. The former No. 9 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft ran a 4.22 40-yard dash at the combine and was on an upward trajectory before injuries derailed his career early on. He’s managed 62 receptions for 957 yards and 11 touchdowns in 37 career games. We’ll see if he’s able to catch on with another team this late into the season.
  • FA Wide Receiver #85
John Ross retired from the NFL after six seasons.
Ross set the NFL Combine record in 2017 when he blazed a 4.22 40-yard dash. The former Washington Husky would go on to be selected No. 9 overall by the Bengals that season, but injuries and underwhelming play quickly derailed what had the makings of a promising career. Ross signed a reserve/future deal with the Chiefs in January but has opted to hang it up after a few days of training camp. The former first-rounder ends his career with 62 receptions for 957 yards and 11 touchdowns.
  • Wide Receiver #38
Chiefs signed WR John Ross to a reserve/future deal.
The former No. 9 overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft will enter the offseason as a member of the Chiefs. Ross missed all of 2022 after spending 2021 with the Giants, where he went for 11/224/1. Ross has played in just 21 regular season games since 2019 and has never gone for more than 506 yards in any individual season. He’ll need to put in a lot of work this offseason if he hopes to make the Chiefs’ 53-man roster come next season.

  • Wide Receiver #38
Cardinals worked out free agent WR John Ross on Tuesday.
It’s the first we’ve heard of anyone taking a gander at the former first-round pick this offseason. He spent the dying days of the Gettleman Era in New York with the Giants last year, finishing with a line of 11/224/1. Ross wasn’t signed, so it appears that the Cardinals front office is still properly Dortchpilled.

  • Wide Receiver #38
John Ross (knee) will not play Week 18 against Washington.
The former No. 9 overall pick had some moments this season including a 3-77-1 line back in Week 4, but he finishes the year with 11 catches for 224 yards and that one score. Headed to free agency, Ross will hope to latch on to the back of a roster this spring.

  • Wide Receiver #38
Giants activated John Ross from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Defensive backs Keion Crossen and Adoree’ Jackson were also activated. With Sterling Shepard done for the year and Kadarius Toney nursing a shoulder injury, Ross could see a few snaps as the Giants’ WR3 this week.
