Vikings placed K Will Reichard (quad) on injured reserve.
He’ll miss at least four games. The Vikings are signing John Parker Romo to replace Reichard as the kicker for the near-term. Reichard missed two kicks — his only two misses of the season — while trying to play through the quad injury on Sunday night. It was obvious that he was in pain on each backswing.

Vikings signed K John Parker Romo, formerly of the UFL’s San Antonio Brahams, to a contract.
The signing is potentially significant because the team has not re-signed K Greg Joseph, who last year made 24 of his 30 field goal attempts and 36 of 28 extra points tries. Parker Romo had a short stint with the Lions last spring after kicking for the Brahmas. He made 17 of 19 field goals for San Antonio.

Lions signed K John Parker Romo, formerly of the San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL.
Detroit hosted the XFL standout to rookie camp via veteran invite, a tryout that ultimately led to his signing. John Parker Romo will likely compete with veteran journeyman Michael Badgley in camp for the right to kick for the Lions in 2023. Romo went 17-of-19 in kick attempts in the XFL this season.

Former Tulsa redshirt junior K John Parker Romo transferred to Virginia Tech.
Romo was primarily the kickoff specialist for the Hurricane, but he did attempt five field goals -- making two -- and he made 17-of-18 extra-points for Tulsa in his sophomore season. He’s expected to compete for the kicking job with Brian Johnson, and at very least, he could help the Hokies on kickoffs.
