Giants declared S Jevon Holland, CB Paulson Adebo, CB Cor’Dale Flott, DL Chauncey Golston, OT Jermaine Eleumunor, and TE Daniel Bellinger inactive for Week 9 against the 49ers.
Holland tested his knee out in pre-game warmups but wasn’t cleared to play. He will look to return in Week 10 against the Bears. The Giants are down multiple starters this week, making them a strong matchup for Mac Jones, who is a solid QB2 option in Superflex leagues.
  • NYG Safety #8
Giants declared S Jevón Holland, WR Jalin Hyatt, CB Paulson Adebo, T James Hudson III, DL Chauncey Golston, OL Evan Neal, and QB Jameis Winston inactive for Week 8 against the Eagles.
Holland continues to deal with a lingering knee injury. The absence of Holland and Adebo could make for a good matchup for Jalen Hurts and the Philly pass catchers. The Eagles have been far more pass heavy than usual in recent weeks.
  • NYG Safety #8
Giants downgraded S Jevon Holland (knee) to out for Week 8 against the Eagles.
Holland’s absence is big news for a Giants team also without cornerback Paulson Adebo. The fantasy upside of DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert continues to grow as Sunday approaches.
  • NYG Kicker #9
Giants K Graham Gano (groin) is questionable to play in Week 8 against the Eagles.
Gano was designated to return from injured reserve earlier this week, and he promisingly practiced in full three times since then. Giants fill-in K Jude McAtamney converted just 2-of-4 extra point attempts last week. Getting Gano back would be a plus for the G-Men. The Giants will be getting back starting C John Michael Schmitz, who has been sidelined since the Giants faced the Eagles in Week 6. Giants S Jevon Holland (neck) is doubtful.
  • NYG Outside Linebacker #0
Giants EDGE Brian Burns (hip) did not practice Wednesday.
Defensive backs Paulson Adebo and Jevon Holland were also held out of practice. The good news is that Burns, who has nine sacks this season, told reporters he fully expects to play on Sunday. Barring a surprise, the NFL’s sack-leader will be ready to face the Eagles by kickoff.
  • NYG Safety #8
Giants agree to terms with S Jevon Holland, formerly of the Dolphins, on a three-year, $45 million contract.
Holland will get $30 million guaranteed. The former second round pick out of Oregon is known for his physical play and should be an impactful addition to a revamped New York defense that last year allowed the ninth most yards and the 11th most points. Pro Football Focus graded the Giants coverage unit as the seventh worst in the NFL in 2024. Holland, 25, had five interceptions and 301 tackles over his four years in Miami.
  • PHI Defensive Tackle #93
ESPN’s Dan Graziano reports that the Panthers will be “seeking big-name players in free agency,” particularly on defense.
Graziano suggests the Panthers “might be one of the teams willing to spend big to lure defensive tackle Milton Williams away from the Super Bowl champion Eagles.” The Panthers will also attempt to bolster their edge rush and Graziano lists Saints defensive end Chase Young as an “intriguing option.” Adding Williams and Young to a defensive line featuring Derrick Brown and Jadeveon Clowney could help turn around Carolina’s dire 2024 defense. Safeties Jevon Holland and Camryn Bynum are also reportedly on the Panthers’ short list of preferred defenders.
  • MIA Safety #8
Dolphins are not expected to place the franchise tag on S Jevon Holland.
Holland is on track to hit free agency as one of the top safeties on the market without a franchise tag. The Dolphins have seemingly declined to use the $19.6 million tag, a number that would have put Holland between Antoine Winfield Jr. and Derwin James among the highest paid safeties in the league. Instead, the Dolphins will have a chance to negotiate a long-term deal with Holland as he also tests free agent waters. Expect the 24-year-old to get a contract near the top of the market.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #10
Tyreek Hill (wrist) is active for Week 10 against the Rams.
Hill was labeled a true game-time decision after missing practice Friday and Saturday with a wrist injury, ultimately proving enough in pre-game warmups to warrant active status for the team’s Week 10 contest against the Rams. Also active for the Dolphins is safety Jevon Holland, who came into Monday listed as questionable. Inactive for the Dolphins are FB Alec Ingold, RB Jeff Wilson, Jr., CB Ethan Bonner, CB Storm Duck, LB Mohamed Kamara, OL Andrew Meyer, and WR Dee Eskridge.

  • MIA Safety #8
Barry Jackson reports “Jevon Holland was able to practice at least some” on Friday and is likely to be a game-time decision for Monday Night Football against the Rams.
Holland will likely be marked as a limited participant for Friday. Jackson also notes Holland’s current knee injury is unrelated to the bilateral MCL sprains Holland suffered last year. On one hand, the fact that Holland avoided re-injury is a good thing. On the other, this is another knee issue on Holland’s health record.
