  • DET Running Back #5
David Montgomery (ribs) is inactive for Week 7 against the Ravens.
Also inactive for the Lions are DE Charles Harris, OG Jonah Jackson, CB Jerry Jacobs, WR Marvin Jones, DL Brodric Martin, and DL Levi Onwuzurike. Among Lions skill players, Montgomery has been expected to miss time with a rib injury, while Jones was ruled out for personal reasons. Craig Reynolds and Jahmyr Gibbs are active and will carry the load in the Lions backfield. On the defensive side of the ball, Harris appears to have been benched after a slow start to the season, while NFL interceptions leader Jerry Jacobs has been ruled out with a knee issue.
  • DET Defensive Back #39
Lions placed CB Jerry Jacobs (knee) on reserve/PUP.
The 2021 UDFA out of Arkansas is still recovering from last season’s torn ACL and will now be sidelined until at least Week 5. Jacobs started nine games as a rookie in the depleted Lions’ secondary, breaking up seven passes and recovering one fumble.

  • FA Defensive End #95
Lions placed DL Romeo Okwara, DL Josh Paschal, and DB Jerry Jacobs on active/PUP list.
Okwara is recovering from a torn Achilles suffered in October and hadn’t been participating in mini-camp, no real surprise there. Paschal was dealing with a vague “lower extremity” injury that limited him early in the offseason. Jacobs is recovering from an ACL tear in December.

  • DET Defensive Back #39
Lions CB Jerry Jacobs (ACL) is out for the season.
An feel-good undrafted free agent out of Arkansas, Jacobs announced his season-ending knee injury on social media Monday morning. Jacobs was Detroit’s highest graded cover corner, per Pro Football Focus. The Lions defense could be even more vulnerable without Jacobs.
