Bears placed CB Jaylon Jones on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.
Four members of the Bears’ secondary are currently dealing with injuries and Jones’ shoulder issue was bad enough to land him on injured reserve. These secondary injuries, coupled with the loss of difference-making DT Andrew Billings, make the Bears’ defense a far more fantasy-friendly unit. The team “signed S Tarvarius Moore to the active roster and added DB JT Woods to the practice squad,” per The Athletic’s Kevin Fishbain, in corresponding moves.

Bears CB Jaylon Jones exited Week 9 against the Cardinals with an apparent injury.
Jones was seen being escorted to the locker room by Bears trainers. Jones is a capable backup and the Bears cannot afford to lose another defensive back at this point. The unit is very nearly one to target entering Week 10. Hopefully, Jones is able to return next week.

Bears signed undrafted free agent TE Jake Tonges.
A Cal product, Tonges recorded 22 catches for 278 yards and two touchdowns in 2021, becoming a starter after playing special teams in his first three years at Cal. He had 47 catches, 620 yards, and four touchdowns during his collegiate career. Tonges has an uphill climb to crack Chicago’s roster this summer. The Bears also signed the following undrafted free agents: Iowa State tight end Chase Allen, Florida tackle Jean Delance, Ohio State running back Master Teague, Purdue linebacker Jaylan Alexander, Louisville linebacker C.J. Avery, Miami defensive back Amari Carter, Minnesota defensive lineman Micah Dew-Treadway, Missouri defensive back Allie Green, Ole Miss defensive back Jaylon Jones, and Wisconsin linebacker Jack Sanborn.

Ole Miss HC Matt Luke said that the team will be patient with the recovery of redshirt junior CB Jaylon Jones (knee).
Jones (5'11/175) tore the ACL and meniscus in his knee in Ole Miss’ season-opener against Texas Tech last September. Luke spoke to his recovery back in April, saying that he would open the summer doing mostly straight-line running, with cutting and change of direction work to come later on. The expectation, here, is that Jones will be healthy and ready to roll come the start of August camp. The Athletic’s Antonio Morales tags Jones as a “likely” starter for the fall so long as he is fully recovered from his knee injury.

Ole Miss signed four-star S Jaylon Jones.
HC Hugh Freeze had to extend his reach to the Lone Star State for this one, as Jones calls Allen, Texas, home. The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder “flies to the football effortlessly and closes ground extremely fast, whether he is tracking a ball in the air or a ball carrier,” according to Scout.com. They see him transitioning from safety to corner at the collegiate level. ESPN 300’s breakdown notes that he doesn’t have much experience playing man-to-man defense, something that will obviously have to change if he’s truly going to move to corner.
